agaugust:[/s] Off it goes into the rubbish bin where it belongs. Those are already gripen pilots who only are still accruing flying hours. It does not matter the platform. Stupidddd illiterate Nigerian. |

FighterPilot:And your so called qualified pilot are going for what training in Russia? Or are your pilots going to acquire more flying hour FighterPilot:Don't forget Russia said they won't spend time on pilots who can't fly planes properly. Pilots at AFB Makhado told the paper their colleagues who resigned had done so because they couldn't fly. They have apparently joined airlines or companies operating in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and China. It appears the group bound for Russia are not going to have an easy time of it. A SAAF officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Russians had made it clear no time would be wasted on pilots who cannot fly properly. |

iblawi:Qualified pilots are going nowhere. Tell me do you have a problem with reading and understanding English. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 8:43am On Oct 15, 2015 |
FighterPilot:Problem is, none of them are combat qualified. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by iblawi(m): 8:43am On Oct 15, 2015 |
FighterPilot:Sorry dear, you are the one who have problem with reading and understanding English. The majority of those going to Russia are qualified pilots but are short of flying hours to build their experience base. The lack of flying hours, also a result of a tight budget, has contributed in no small measure to this. |

Jln115, why does the SAAF have only 9 pilots for the Gripen after 16 years. I've been trying to get an answer frrom Patrick, but the clown has been unable to answer. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:06am On Oct 15, 2015 |
iblawi:English is my fuc..n language damn it! Those are junior pilots particularly young black pilots. |

Henry120:16 years ago South Africa never had any gripens. We were flying cheetahs. Gripens were adopted as fighter platform of SAAF in 2010. Signing of an arms deal contract does not mean an actual procurement. All orders will have to go to the plants and take years to produce. If Cameroon orders JF-17 today does not mean they have it. They might see the first batch delivered in 2023. The source that your mates posted proved you wrong completely. It says. Ten 2-squadron pilots (gripens) were selected to further their training in Russia. Four are already undergoing training in Cuba. Four experienced pilots have resigned. So how does that make nine? |

iblawi:11 -3 trainers = 8 combat worthy jets |

w Henry120:Says so? Here we go again, Henry120 is going to repeat the same phrase over and over whilst contributing nothing at all |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 10:43am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Henry120:Budget issues - which will be rectified by the defence reveiw Why does Nigeria, in the year of 2015, not posses any 4th gen fighters? I have been asking since last night but you seem to be unable to answer. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 11:21am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:8 combat worthy flying coffins. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by iblawi(m): 11:28am On Oct 15, 2015 |
FighterPilot:I expected you to accept you have problem with reading and understanding English. At least i proved to you that your qualified pilots are the once going to Russia for training. A country with no Gripen. What do you think that means? Your government reduced the number cos they can pay for living expenses. Even though Russia taking responsibility for training. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 11:40am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:You are the ones in South African glass houses throwing stones at other black African countries. Nigeria has 11 F-7 jets they are 3.5th Gen aircraft with 4th Generation radar and missiles. Good enough to defeat 9 SAAF Gripen pilots who are only qualified to fly but NOT qualified for combat due to below standard flying hours and very poor flying skills that need to be re-trained in tiny Cuba and Russia. How low South African military has fallen ! . |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 11:46am On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:No. You only have 10 now and 3 are just trainers Meaning you have only 8 combat worthy jets and they are by no means "4th gen" or "3.5 gen" Who says that our Gripen pilots are not combat qualified? You? bwaaahahaha!! Just 8 Gripen pilots and we are still better than you will ever be! Pathetic peasant nation and rebel worthy airforce! SAAF = 9 4th Gen platforms operational (soon to be 19) NAF = ZERO 4th gen platforms (at all) with no end in sight! ![]() |

Patchesagain:SANDF mission included staying long term in C A.R to protect human lives, that is the final MoU mandate signed 3 months before Seleka attacked. "The new agreement detailed in the diplomatic note now comes under scrutiny. The diplomatic notes provide for the ‘reinforcement of the South African Contingent for self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives in Bangui’. The expanded scope of cooperation to include – self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives – was never conveyed to Parliament.”" http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2013-04-18-car-debacle-da-gunning-for-zuma/#.Vh1gT_lViko SANDF elite paratroopers and Special Forces all abandoned mission objective since almost 3 years now, you ran away permanently from where your country signed agreement to stay and protect human lives. Cowards for life, your troops got medal awards at home for Olympic speed running from Seleka to hide under French soldiers protection ![]() ![]() . |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 11:50am On Oct 15, 2015 |
iblawi:Listen to the person who has first hand information, not media wada wada. The original number of gripen pilots who had to go to Russia was 18 and about eight of whom were already qualified and subsequently had to be dropped in favour of those whose flying hours were not enough. Listening is a skill. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 11:53am On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:That was not the mission you liar. The mission was: 1. Train Bozize's military 2. Protect the men training his military and South African equipment Your argument is thus meaningless |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 11:53am On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:Look at this fool who does not know that SANDF has been to CAR since 2007 before they were attacked in 2013. MoU was signed in 2007 https://africacheck.org/reports/claim-that-sa-soldiers-were-on-training-mission-is-misleading/ |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 11:59am On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:You are a liar, SANDF mission was signed and sealed on documents, mission included protecting property and saving human lives. PROVED : "The new agreement detailed in the diplomatic note now comes under scrutiny. The diplomatic notes provide for the ‘reinforcement of the South African Contingent for self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives in Bangui’. The expanded scope of cooperation to include – self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives. " http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2013-04-18-car-debacle-da-gunning-for-zuma/#.Vh1gT_lViko No wonder even Sudan rifle boys in Toyota scares SANDF.....your army always remember defeat and humiliation by Seleka AK-47 rifles . |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 12:07pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:You posted rubbish ! First vehicle Sherpa is fully protected and armoured all round, NOT open sided and soft skin like your Hornet. You actually posted a vehicle similar to VBL with full body cover and bullet proof protection all round. Fool ![]() Second vehicle VPS, is NOT a combat vehicle, it is an SF patrol vehicle as specified by manufacturer, patrol NOT combat for special forces. You posted Rubbish.....and Hornet too is NOT any SF vehicle, it is manufacturer specified as a simple Rapid Deployement Vehicle like the VBL too is Rapid Deployment, just that VBL is better with full armour protection and amphibious capability. You lose Patches ! |

agaugust:It was confirmed by the Minister that only military assets were being protected. https://pmg.org.za/committee-meeting/15658/ Minister of Defence > Daily Maverick Why the fvck you Nigerians keep posting the Daily Maverick as a reputable source I will never know. Now stop wasting our time by arguing about things you know nothing about And FYI, in Sudan, our boys recently fought their way out a of huge rebel ambush - so I doubt you could say we are "scared" |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 12:10pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:So, You had budget issues for 16 years, and got stuck with 9 pilots and 0 combat qualified. We do, CH-3A, MI-35M & MI-17 terminator1sh are all 4 GEN aircrafts. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:10pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:hahahaha I lose when you prove that French Special forces use the VBL Both vehicals I posted have more in common with the Wasp than the VBL and again, you dont seem to understand how the Wasp or other such vehicals fit into what SF do. This is probably because you have no idea what special forces actually are. |

Patchesagain:"The majority of those going to Russia are qualified pilots but are short of flying hours to build their experience base. SAAF is dead. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:13pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
Henry120:Again, who says 0 are combat qualified?? 9 pilots right now, soon to be 19 when the next batch completes their training. Weird that "unqualified" pilots would be having dogfights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sVIIAwq270 None of those are 4th Gen fighters, none are as good as the Rooivalk and we just orderd the Seeker drone Now answer the question: why does Nigeria, in this year of 2015, have ZERO 4th Gen aircraft? |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:14pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:Yes jackass, it says THOSE PILOTS are short of hours. They is why they are going to Russia. It does not say ALL Gripen pilots are short of hours Are you illiterate or simply being disingenuous? Weird that "unqualified"pilots are dropping bombs then? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNZjshXMfNE |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 12:15pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
Patchesagain:Thanks for agreeing that Cuba and Russia training will NOT qualify any new Gripen pilot for SAAF. You travel to learn basic flying in tiny Cuba. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 12:17pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
FighterPilot:....goes there together with South African air force |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:17pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:Yes, the batch sent to Cuba will be doing that. The 10 sent to Russia will be doing lead-in training in preperation for their Gripen training. Are you so incredibly stu.pid that you think you have scored points with this post? Are you really this dense? |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:18pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
agaugust:Says the Nigerian who's airforces best platform is a 50 year old design which crashes about once per year Even with just ~9 Grip pilots: SAAF > NAF How does it feel? How does it feel to know that even when we are running at our lowest capability - and you are at war - that we are still superior? HAHAHAHAHA "People in glass houses..." |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 12:19pm On Oct 15, 2015 |
FighterPilot:Qualified from Gripen training course to take off and land. That does not make you combat qualified, you need standard combat training hours EVERY YEAR on the Gripen to become combat capable. You said you are an air force officer....and I have to lecture you ? Wow ! |
