[s]Qualified from Gripen training course to take off and land. That does not make you combat qualified, you need standard combat training hours EVERY YEAR on the Gripen to become combat capable.

You said you are an air force officer....and I have to lecture you ? Wow ![/s]
Prove your claims.

You are making this same statement over and over. Yet you can never provide any proof.

Stinks of desperation.

"The majority of those going to Russia are qualified pilots but are short of flying hours to build their experience base. The lack of flying hours , also a result of a tight budget, has contributed in no small measure to this."

SAAF has ZERO combat qualified Gripen pilots, they can only do take off and landing or public ceremonial shows like Mandela's Funeral.

SAAF is dead.
What is a combat qualified pilot?

11 -3 trainers = 8 combat worthy jets
Nope, we have only one trainer, and it is combat capable. Total is 11 F-7, with combat capable pilots having surplus combat flying hours.

Better than 9 Gripen pilots who are short of flying hours and not combat qualified.

A living dog is better than a dead lion.

Nope 3 are trainers

Now citatiosn for:
1. Nigeria having enough combat capable pilots
2. Trainer being combat capable
3. SAAF pilots not being qualified

As usual, you make allot of statements but provide no evidence. If you continue to do so, I shall take it as a sign of your defeat and leave. I have better things to do with my time than talk to children.

Yes jackass, it says THOSE PILOTS are short of hours. They is why they are going to Russia.

It does not say ALL Gripen pilots are short of hours

Are you illiterate or simply being disingenuous?

Weird that "unqualified"pilots are dropping bombs then?

Pilots dropping bombs on empty space on top of sand, any dummy can press button to release a bomb on a non existent target....just push one button.....even a mooronn with half education can push one simple button, your pilots are dullards and need Russian help.

You are a liar, SANDF mission was signed and sealed on documents, mission included protecting property and saving human lives. PROVED :

"The new agreement detailed in the diplomatic note now comes under scrutiny. The diplomatic notes provide for the ‘reinforcement of the South African Contingent for self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives in Bangui’. The expanded scope of cooperation to include – self-defence, protection of property and saving of human lives. "

.
The mission of SANDF in CAR was straight forward and that was to provide training to CAR troops as per requested by Bozize when he visited SA in 2007 during which MoU was signed.

In return SANDF had to send personnel for security purposes.

CAR had peacekeepers whose duty was to protect the locals and that was French troops who ran away when rebels grabbed the town, only SA troops stood their grounds.

That's what all combat qualified pilots do and is no exception to what Nigerian pilots have done. Nigerian pilots have done the same but in a wrong way and ended up killing innocent civilians.

Cheap Nigerian F7 jet came down tumbling from the sky killing once again its pilot when he tried to jump off with a parachute and only landed on a mango tree and died.

You are the ones in South African glass houses throwing stones at other black African countries.

Nigeria has 11 F-7 jets they are 3.5th Gen aircraft with 4th Generation radar and missiles.

Good enough to defeat 9 SAAF Gripen pilots who are only qualified to fly but NOT qualified for combat due to below standard flying hours and very poor flying skills that need to be re-trained in tiny Cuba and Russia.

How low South African military has fallen !
.
Your F-7's are not even proper 3rd gen planes nor is its avionics 3.5gen. The italian radar it uses are old and outdated and no match for any 4gen fighter. It won't even detect a Gripen RCS.

The EW systems on those F-7Ni is considered obsolete.

Show us what makes 9 pilots not combat qualified.

To end this of Nigeria don't even have a single F-7 trainer for the last 2years and has lost another F-7 relic recently. Each year one F-7 coffin falls out of the sky. You don't have trainers nor do you currently have more then 2 F-7 relics air worthy or combat qualified pilots.

Come back when your useless NAF with no single qualified fighter jet has a 1 4th gen fighter.

New MoU signed just 3 months before the Seleka atacked, which I posted source today, expanded SANDF mandate to include protection of property and human lives.....but your elite paratroops + cowradly special forces ALL abandoned the people of C.A.R in their hour of need.

Go read list of crashes, 2 trainers crashed and 2 combat variant. Means we have 10 combat variants and 1 trainer today = 11 jets.

Then what about crashes? 2 Gripen jets in same airforce crashed in one month without including while trying to land like the F-7.

1. No report ever says NAF has pilot shortage for F-7, you created the lies, and you never posted a source.
2. Is your own Gripen trainer not combat capable?
3. SAAF pilots not qualified has been proved and sang like a song so much that it became top 10 hit on music charts

Where else will we take a flight to jet off the country? Obviously at the airport where french troops were stationed.

You are right, SA will never achieve poor record of Nigeria's military history of running away from the enemy up till to another country. Nobody can eve let our troops to run to Zimbabwe leaving South Africa never. That embarrassment happened twice in Nigeria.

Your stuupidity does not allow you to understand the military principle of combat qualifying hours of flight.

A pilot needs, say 120 hours flight time every new year in combat training, to become combat qualified.

SAAF pilot flies only 20 hours per year during which he drops one bomb on empty sand space and claims he has become combat qualified.

How does dropping a bomb replace the shortage of 100 hours missing on his flying clock time ?

You don't understand simple logic, no wonder South African brains now need repair in Russia grin grin

No you fraud you bought 14. 3 were dual seater trainers and all of the trainers crashed. Another 1 relic that crashed brings the obsolete relics to just 10 in total.

You had 3 that were operational and now you only have 2 obsolete air frames that were air worthy.

1 Gripen is worth 10 F-7's.

Nigeria has the worst jet fighter squadron in the world and the worst jet crash ratio in sub sahara.
