Nigerians have slow mentality.

If someone buys hummer jeep, they think him/her is rich and the next thing he will be kidnapped.

My own house is 3 times better than this but I'm poor as fuccck, that's what we call mortgage in America, You can be broke as hell and still buy a Ferrari

Poverty already configured their mentality.
It's not their fault.

In 2011 a U.S based company wanted to buy Nairaland for $1 million.
How much is that ??
No one knows Linda's blog.
Go make your enquires on how many people who got their jobs through Nairaland.
Comparing Linda's blog to Nairaland is like comparing Nigeria to USA.

Abeg dont mind the guy.I am a fan of Linda but we have to say the truth .To get a house in Banana island no easy. Most of the people staying there have gotten properties in other part of the country Lekki,Ikeja ,surulers Etc.
The place is not meant for starters .How many properties has she acquired ,apart from the one she built for her parent in the village?
Abeg let's face the truth .There is more than meet the eye.
Even oil expatriate can't afford that within that short period .
Maybe one Daddy/boy is really shining the Congo well well .

I can't believe a man is jealous of a woman's achievement! SMH!

Yes I'm jealous of a 4 bedroom apartment.

Lol
Poverty can affect the brain.
In the country where i live, we ain't jealous of no man because a toilet cleaner can get a mortgage on a house in Augusta Georgia where Akon lives.

Even if Linda is an International ashawo, her net worth is not up to 200 million naira

Linda's blog makes over $1,000 a day. I know this as a web professional. It's the most viewed in Africa and among the most viewed in the world. If you don't believe she could by a house from blogging go to her site and inquire about how much it costs to place an ad there through their portal. Then multiple that by all the ads you see plus people that pay her to cover their events.
The woman is a millionaire. In dollars.
Nonsense! Is it by pay by click or ads from companies? That site is actually worth about $97 thousand not $2 million purported by webworth.com .

Why don't you go get a mortgage on a house opposite white house and stop throwing tantrums over a female's achievement!

I pray this is true, because if it turns out later to be like the fake Dangote's estate she posted on her blog, her game will be over. She has not confirmed it and until she does, just enjoy the display. No Nigerian woman can afford this real estate without a rich man behind her. Even billionaire Alakija got her oil block through a man. Genevieve Nnaji got her mansion through a rich dude and not through Nollywood. All the Nollywood divas with posh cars, SUVs and mansions got them through their rich lovers or husbands and not through Nollywood. Ramsey Noah, Desmond Elliot and others earn more, but cannot afford mansions in Park View and Banana Island. So, separate the fact from the fiction. Have a lovely weekend.

Ask those of you relatives how much Nurse practitioner earns, or how much a nurse aide earns or how much a Nurse anesthesia earns.

I'm one of the aforementioned nurses.
And check my picture
I'm in the military.
The only thing i do in the military is go to my unit and shoot guns for only a day once in a month and they pay me for being useless.

Do u now see ur mentality? Talking about mortgage when folks in Naija buy properties and pay cash in full. They own it from the get go and u are hear talking about mortgage. Being rich on credit just means u are an overdraft millionaire.

By Naija standards you are still a poor dude with what u are making

Fool.
8 thousand dollars is around 10 million naira.
That's the amount of money i spend on my gas bill and car insurance.
So, $ 166,876 will be like 80 million in naira.
I forgot to tell you this. I'm only 24 years old.
I'm just a kid

Guys... why are we taking Tylenol for someone else's headaches? The reality is that Linda could actually afford that building. What you guys need to understand is that there are different payment schemes:

1. She might be paying a mortgage for the property -all you need is usually 10-20 percent down payment- with the rest to be paid in installments on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Linda is a smart woman and I'm assuming she would have opted for this.

2. She bought the house outright. I was speaking to someone who works with one of the major MNCs in VGC a while ago and our conversation got to digital media buys in naija. Dude told me his company was paying Linda #5 million a month, that the chick was making a killing big time. Now guys, remember this is just one firm.

Linda has quite a few big firms -we're talking at least 5-7 at every point in time- advertising on her blog. Now, let's do the calculations.

5million* an average of 5 firms monthly = #25 million.
#25 million * 12 = #300 million a year.

Remember the business has little or no overhead costs. She basically has maybe a few employees who curate the content for her or she does it all herself -the latter isn't very likely. Even if she pays the stipulated 30 percent corporate tax, it still comes down to a tidy #210 million in revenue after tax.

Now, multiply that by the last 2 years alone (remember she's been doing this for almost 10 years) and you'll see why the mortgage option is very possible. Also, we don't know what other brand endorsements or deals she has.

My point is this: everyone stop worrying about what she does and just go hustle for yourself. There's a new generation of multimillionaires and multibillionaires in this country, many of whom are younger than 45 and are doing legit businesses. You can join the league if you work your ass off, change your life, acquire a ton of relevant information and believe that there's abundance. The Nigerian economy is so fertile that any imported ideas and technologies, properly adapted to our society will make its progenitor very rich.

Cases in point: Iroking -Naija's own Netflix, Jumia and konga -naija's Amazon, Main One Cable and Swift -naija's Comcast and Sky.
