Guinea's Under-17 national team will launch their 2015 FIFA World Cup campaign in Chile against England in Coquimboon Saturday.
The ‘Syli Cadets’ are making their fourth appearance at the showpiece event of U-17 football, with a fourth-place finish at the maiden edition in China in 1985 as their best achievement to date.
They booked their spot at the competition with a third-place finish at the 2015 African U-17 Championship in Niger, with Mali, Nigeria and South Africa the other African representatives in Chile.
Drawn in a tough Group B alongside Brazil, Korea Republic and England, the Guineans will be eager to get their campaign off to a positive start against the Three Lions in their ambitious bid to progress to the knockout stage.
“Undoubtedly we are in one of the toughest groups, and everyone thinks that we will lose our three matches. I have been able to watch our opponents. Brazil are a team with good technicians, England are powerful and Korea have excellent players, who are technically gifted,” Syli coach Hamidou Camara commented.
“But rest assured, we will adapt. In the history of the World Cup, African teams have often done well, and I am hopeful that we can play our part in continuing that tradition.”
Meanwhile, England U-17 will kick off their third World Cup campaign in South America, after making two quarterfinals appearances in Korea Republic in 2007 and in Mexico four years later.
And while the Three Lions will be looking to reach the last four for the first time ever, the objective for the English boys remain to gain some valuable experience.
“We want to create a legacy,” England U-17 coach Neil Dewsnip explained.
“We will try to win but what’s more important is that the players who are going to play in the full England team one day gain something from this experience, which will make them not only that future England player but a really successful one.”

Here, lemme help out........... The time difference between Nigeria and Chile is 5 hours. Though Chile got different specific timezones but The difference is ultimately "5 hours".

Our first match is by 17.00 local time in chile.
Nigerian time- 17.00 (5.00) + 5hrs = 10.00 pm

Note: Nigeria is ahead of Chile as time goes from "west to east" as an increase....... Longitudinally.

Thus, we have the following:


Our second match is by 20.00 local time in Chile.
Nigerian time- 1am

Our third match is by 20.00 local time in chile.
Nigerian time- 1am

So that's it.........

Majority of them have graduated to the U20, so it may be very unwise to invite them back to come and feature for a competiton, which provides enough opportunities to so many talents who are within the age bracket, that abound in and out of the Country.
