Your application was well packaged.

Let us know the outcome.

Hello everyone..i picked up our passports today and we got the visas ! I was so nervous !. The balance on my account was about 1m and my wife's was just 100k. I also made one or two silly mistakes at the point of submission. I drafted the cover letter based on advices here and i explained the other funds that came into my account asides my salary.

All thanks to God, Justwise, Frontpagelawyer and others on this thread who provided advices. I am most grateful.

Hi guys,
Please i am filling my form for submission, but some questions got me confused.
1) I have a landed property. On d form it was asked "what is the monthly income from the property"? It's just a landed property and no monthly income. What should i do to this question?
2)They asked for my monthly income but they didn't specify if it should be written in Naira or Pounds. So please should i specify my monthly income in Naira or Pounds?
3)Also they asked the total amount i have for the trip.Bt they also did not specify whether it will be in Naira or Pounds.Secondly is this question about the total amount i have in my account?
4)Lastly,on the question of how much i spend on living cost in a month, how much do u think i should put there?Personally i don't spend much cos i am all by self and i am not the food type.Atimes i spend 10k in a month. This is for real but i don't want the ECO to think i am lying. Please is this 10k too small for an average Nigerian?
Sorry for my numerous questions but i will be glad if the above questions are attended to.

Free your mind, please. If your passport has a refusal stamp, there is nothing you can do about it. Some people dont get stamp, some get. Lets take it that some VOs just feel like stamping the thing undecided

Yes, address the refusal points and re-apply. The stamp doesn't stop you from getting your visa.

Goddey1975:
@lawyer yes,but if i reapply an adress d refusal reasons, i hope dey wont say i clean d stamp

1. Indicate you have a Landed property and input N/A for monthly income from Property.
2. Monthly income in Pounds. Use http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ as that is the exchange rate the ECO will use
3.Please DONT put total amount in your account here. Calculate cost of flight, accommodation, feeding etc and input it in Pounds. The lower the amount you input here the better for you as this will be looked at in line with how much you earn.
4.This should also be in Pounds but even assuming you are single, how do you spend only 10k in a month? Thats like 30 Pounds a month using Oanda.com.

@Justwise, they gave me letter of sponsorship and i requested for their statement of account to show proof to the VISA officer. but the challenge is that i have less than 400k in my salary account. is there any chance that my application will be considered.

The balance in your account is not really the issue but your salary and the position in the organisation sponsoring you matters. State govt shouldn't be releasing their bank statement to you that is unheard of. Letter of sponsorship and details of the program in the uk are things that matters most in this case.

REFUSAL OF ENTRY CLEARANCE
Post reference: LAGOS xxxxx
To: xxxxxxxxxxx
Date of Birth: /02/1958 Nationality: Nigerian
Your Application
You have applied for an entry clearance asa visitor to the United Kingdom for 2 weeks. I have, "
considered your application under paragraph 41 of the United Kingdom Immigration Ruies. You
can read these rules at: .
www.gov.uklgovernmentlcollections/immigr.ation-rules
Guidance that explains the types of documents which, in addition to the application form, might 9!Ve:
a visa applicant the best opportunity to show that their circumstances are as they have set out is'
available at: .
https:/Iwww.gov.uklcheck-uk-visa
In assessing your individuai application, it has not been necessary to interview you, but I have taken
account of:
• the financial and employment information as declared by you on your application form; .'
• your passport;
• your family circumstances, and
• the supporting documents you provided.
-
I have used all the information provided by you to determine if the requirements of the Immigration
Act have been met. In reaching my decision, which has been made on the balance of probabilities,
I note the following points: . .
The Decision
• .Exchange rate used: £1 = ~295 naira.
UNCLASSIFIED
• You propose to visit a friend in the UK for two weeks. I note that you were recently refused a
visa for this purpose, on 09/0212015. At that time, the notice of refusal included the following
concerns:
, 0 I have initially taken into account what you have stated in your Visa Application Form
when assessing the merits of your application. You have declared that you have used
passport number A4061307 before and have also declared that you have been refused
a visa before in June 2014. However, I have also noted that you have previously used
passport number A0627093 with the alias Date of Birth of 2810211957 to apply for a UK
visa. You have now in fact been refused five UK visas previously. You are required to . I
declare all refusals when you make an application for a visa to go to the UK and the fact
you have not declared full facts casts doubts on your credibility.
o You have provided a business bank statement from BE new in Christ Evangelical
Church as evidence of funding. However this account represents funds used for the
activities and running of a business, and there is no satisfactory evidence that these
funds are available to support anything else. Furthermore these funds do not necessarily
retlect an individual's personal financial circumstances, even if that individual is the sole
owner of the company. I am not therefore satisfied that this bank statement accurately
reflects your personal circumstances nor that the indicated funds will be available for
your exclusive use.
o You declare that your monthly income is N200,000 (£690), however you have failed to
satisfy me this is the case based on the documents you have produced. Look~ng
therefore at your personal circumstances, lack otprevious immigration history and·
documents submitted, I consider that you have not demonstrated sufficiently strong
social or economic ties to your home country to satisfy me of your intentions in the UK. I
am not satisfied that you are residing in settled economic circumstances that represent a
reason to leave the UK.
• I am not satisfied that you have previously addressed the above concerns.
• With respect to the use of differing dates of births and your non-declaration of previous refusals,
a legal letter with your fresh application states that this was an error caused by an incorrect birth
certificate. However, I do not find this explanation credible. From this letter alone, it is unclear
when or why your understood birth date changed, and also why you would not declare previous
passports and refusals associated with the previous birth date. The visa application form makes
it clear that all previous passports and all previous refusals must be declared. This damages the
credibility of your current application.
• With respect to your stated employment and personal finances, you have now submitted a
personal bank statement and not a business one. It is riot clear why' again both were not
submitted together to provide a clear picture of your overall funds and income flow. I also note
that there are no payments from your stated company into your personal account that match
your stated earnings from them, nor is there evidence of the origins of the other payments into
the account, nor is there any complementary evidence, such as tax documentation for you to
show the level of income you have declared to the authorities. Given all of this, I am led to
UNCLASSIFIED
- doubt the strength of your economic circumstances here, and by extension your intentions. in
wishing to travel now. I
• I note that you now state that a friend in Nigeria will be funding your visit. However, I note that
there is no evidence that you and this applicant have met, or previously communicated, except
for the purpose of this visa application process. Furthermore, it is not clear why, if you intend to
travel imminently (10 days after submitting your application) this sponsor would not have passed
these funds to you already. Given this, I am also led to doubt the state of your financial
sponsorship for this visit.
• Therefore I am not satisfied that you are seeking a genuine visit or that you intend to leave the
UK at the end of your visit. 41 (i) and (ii). Furthermore, I am not satisfied that you will be
adequately maintained and accommodated whilst in the UK or that you are able to meet the
cost of the onward journey. 41 (vi) and (vii).
I have therefore refused your application because I am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities,
that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant Paragraph of the United Kingdom Immigration
Rules.

Sir, Your case is a very complex one that needs to be carefully and intelligently addressed.

Initially I suggested the legal route to sort out the discrepancies in your DOB but alas it's been exhausted and damage is enormous.

From my point of view, you're not on a ban.

ECO laid emphasis on two reasons why you were refused.

•Discrepancies in your Date of Birth
• Inconsistencies in all your applications

Which legal papers did you submit in defence of the discrepancies in your BOD? Who signed the documents?

I submitted at Ikeja on 6th October, got an sms that decision has been taken last friday (16th october). My wife's income is 100k. She wrote 75k as her living expense (with an explanation that she takes care of domestic expenses at home while i save towards capital project other things). She wrote zero (0) as expenses on dependants. Total budgeted expenses for both of us is 1998GBP. Accomodation 566GBP (13 nights at crystal lodge hotel, thorton heath), flight 858 GBP (about 260k for both of us; but flight is more expensive now). The rest is living expenses.

Hi, I have lodged for one night in Crystal Lodge, it's clean and quiet. Nothing fantastic The neighbourhood is kinda dry and the place is far from Central London.

You could have chosen a place that is closer or maybe you have other reasons for choosing Thornton Heath as your camp base.

@funlover tanks, the 858gbp is it flight for u and ur wife? Or 1person? Then i sum evry tin is not equal to 1998gbp,pls mak us clear,2. How much u rote in ur own form as living expenses and dependant then how much is ur income?

OGreene:
Hi, I have lodged for one night in Crystal Lodge, it's clean and quiet. Nothing fantastic The neighbourhood is kinda dry and the place is far from Central London.
You could have chosen a place that is closer or maybe you have other reasons for choosing Thornton Heath as your camp base.
Thanks for the info. I actually chose Crytsal Lodge for the purpose of the application because the rate is cheap (566 for 13 nights for a double room). I am cancelling the booking today. I will actually stay with friends in london and manchester. I will book another hotel where i will stay for probably one or two days before moving over to my friends' places
