arbitter:By the time friends and relatives of their editors and shareholders start disappearing mysteriously, by the time they go to bed with NEPA and wake up to see their generators running, by the time they wake up in the morning to discover that their cars no longer have engines and by the time fire start burning their HQ, they will know the difference between satan and devil. |

NaijaTalkTown:When children and fools write it is glaring. Please, read about the River Niger before this USELESS comment of yours. Again, realising most of you cannot read, I have summarised it below for you. i. Torrential rains in the lower part of the Niger's basin cause an enormous flow into the delta. ii. In contrast, the upper and middle courses, crossing arid to semiarid land, carry relatively little water. iii. Although it is one of Africa's major rivers, the Niger is of little economic importance iv. Navigation is limited because of numerous rapids and shallows; irrigation projects tapping its flow are small and few in number. v. Only Nigeria's Kainji Dam is a major producer of electric power. http://geography.howstuffworks.com/africa/the-niger-river.htm Simply put, your River Niger water from UP NORTH has NO economic values to the Se & Lower Niger. If you dam at Kogi, you would end up achieving NOTHING, because the rainfall that feeds the Niger actually come from the rain forest belt of S/E & LOWER DELTA. Why do you think countries like Guinea, Mali and Niger have not thought of damming the Niger ![]() Friend, please READ!!!
