Rooney had the most assists in the 2013–2014 Champions League with 8 assists, beating 2nd place Ángel Di María who had 6 assists. On 18 December, Rooney scored twice in the 5–3 semi-final victory over Japanese club Gamba Osaka in the FIFA Club World Cup and, after scoring the winning goal as United beat LDU Quito 1–0 in the final in Yokohama was awarded the Golden Ball as the best player in the tournament In January 2003, Rooney signed his first professional contract, which made him one of world football's highest-paid teenagers( fraud abi ?) Rooney made his United debut on 28 September in a 6–2 home win over Fenerbahçe in the Champions League, scoring a hat-trick and laying on an assist. These goals made Rooney the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Champions League aged 18 years 335 days. On 23 January 2010, Rooney scored all four goals in Manchester United's 4–0 win over Hull City. On 16 February 2010, Rooney hit his first European goals of the season, scoring two headers in the 3–2 away win against Milan in Manchester United's first ever win against them at the San Siro. On 28 February 2010, he scored another header against Aston Villa (his fifth consecutive headed goal) which resulted in Manchester United winning the League Cup final 2–1. "It was stunning. Unbelievable. We've had some fantastic goals here but in terms of execution....you'll never see that." Alex Ferguson on Rooney's bicycle kick match-winner against Manchester City. On 28 August 2010, Rooney scored his first goal of the season as he netted a penalty in a 3–0 home win over West Ham United. In October, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson stated at a press conference that Rooney wanted to quit the club. This came after a period of dispute as to the extent of Rooney's ankle injury, where Rooney had refuted Ferguson's claim that the injury was the reason Rooney had been dropped to the bench. Rooney and his representatives released a statement regarding his decision to leave the club, insisting it was not down to money but ambition. Following this statement, Rooney made a dramatic U-turn and agreed a new five-year contract at Manchester United until June 2015. |

Rooney has scored more goals this season for club more than costa and falcao combined. Costa and kane are both fraudsters too. ![]() |

Jamie Vardy should be earning what costa and other great strikers are earning, he scores more than them so he deserves to earn better than them. |

nyabinghi:don't play with fire..... shearer is heads & shoulders better than rooney at everything. where they played bears no relevance otherwise rooney should have more career goals than ronaldo. now, let's do some math! shearer 260 PL goals 441 PL appearances 38,173 PL minutes 53 PL penalty goals. minute per open play goal ratio = 38,173/207 = 184mins/goal rooney 187 PL goals 415 PL appearances 32,440 PL minutes 18 PL penalty goals. minute per open play goal ratio = 32,440/169 = 192 mins/goal. __________________________ despite the fact that shearer played for crappy teams for most of his career, he was quicker to score a PL goal than rooney that actually played mostly with world class players, world class manager, the most successful club in britain. nyabinghi......shearer>>>>>>>>rooney! |

coogar:Shearer stayed in the box all his life Rooney didnt. Shearer can only wish he was wazza. Remove their penalties and recalculate. |

Rooney has since featured at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups and is widely regarded as his country's best player(Wikipedia). Answer these Questions. How many UCL medals has shearer, How many EPL titles has shearer, How many World Club Cup has Shearer, Who has the better goal to match ratio between Shearer and Wazza. |

nyabinghi:i removed their penalties as instructed by you & shearer shat hot steamy faeces on rooney. whether you add the pens or not, shearer is better than rooney. shearer was never a lone striker....he's had to share the goalscoring roles with sutton, les ferdinand, alan smith, etc all his life. rooney had ronaldo, tevez, ruud, etc as help mates. it's a shame rooney doesn't have 300PL goals today. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nyabinghi(m): 11:02pm On Oct 24, 2015 |
coogar:Shearer played with kluivert, Bellamy, Les ferdinand, Solano et al yet, he couldnt win anything with them, what a shame. If not for penalties, shearer wont be better than yakubu ayegbeni. |

![]() coogar:Well shearer had the chance to play with world class players didn't he? but chose to remain a big fish in a small pond probably because he could not handle the "truth that is man united"! Fergie tried everything in order to sign him up but the fear of dealing with the sort of pressure @ a major club such as manchester got to shearer I guess! Anyway as a pure goal getter, "1993 to 2006 shearer" trumps "rooney" all day everyday even during childrens day, but as a complete footballer, all round play, technique, chance creation, passing, influence etc, I would give it to "2004 to 2012 rooney"! Shearer could not really dribble or make key passes to others as much as rooney does and only finished off chances with headers or shots, rooney had it all in his locker @ 1 point! So IMO! Better goal scorer would be big man shearer, but better all round football player would be rooney! Who would you rather have as a team mate? That's a whole noda cup of p.g tips! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nyabinghi(m): 11:09pm On Oct 24, 2015 |
minus penaties shearer 203 in 38,173 minutes which is 1 PL goal/ 188 minutes Rooney 169 in 32, 440 minutes 1 PL goal /192 minutes The difference is minimal, shearer plays in the box, Wazza plays more outside. Wazza os shearer's dream. ![]() |

nyabinghi:buhahaha - kluivert that was close to retirement when he joined newcastle. rooney also played with falcao & it was during this period rooney scored only 1 miserable away goal in the premier league in 14 months.funlord:compare what shearer did for england to what rooney did. go and watch euro 96 again..... ![]() |

nyabinghi:rooney's england never played in the semis. shearer's england played in the semis. there's a difference between sleep & death. shearer is the better goal scorer. rooney is a fraud & a liability. ![]() |

from yahoo sports Down to ten men was the official count today- and has been a few other times this season- but the truth is Chelsea play with ten men all the time. They play with ten men every time Fabregas is on the pitch. He can’t dribble. He can’t sprint. He can’t track back. He occasionally makes bread-and-butter tackles that are expected of any player. He is a one-hit wonder. He is the odd man out. Thank God cesc isnt playing for us |

UniqueGem:Chelsea absolutely have to batter this lot in the reverse fixture..The cüntishness they displayed in victory today was phenomenal, even those two Inbrëds in the directors box were allover Mourinho's face when they scored, one would think they just denied Chelsea a shot at winning the Champions League. |

darefestus:Mourhino's Chelsea deserves it.He's not exactly an epitome of humility in victory. His celebration as Porto's coach in '04 at OT comes to mind.He/They deserve(s) the schadenfreude |

It's not just the Fans here that believe Rooney is gone, Ferdinand also believes the same?! “But with this Manchester United team I don’t know if there are any players – apart from Martial – whose name you look at on the teamsheet and say ‘he can hurt us if we give him too much time’. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4071/premier-league/2015/10/24/16651282/ferdinand-only-martial-will-scare-man-city |

If Schneiderlin doesn't start, I'm not gonna be anywhere close to a tv...KDB is their only threat along with Sterling who I fancy Valencia to deal with comfortably...We need Schneiderlin to contain KDB... Martial on the left to curb the rampaging runs of Zabaletta... Herrera's elusiveness will work wonders against Toure (I'm questioning his defensive astuteness here) Mata must start to improve our ability to keep the ball... Rooney? God help us...I pray he turns up today... I'm optimistic we'll win... |
