dear obitee69 i am sorry to say dis, but ur quite a daft gentleman. ur a classical example of penny wise pound foolish! when dis whole saga started (borne out of ur daftness driving a car till it overheated and stopped) u were advised on what to do by the experts. i can remember hw u were lashing out at them. now d chickens have come home to roost! just calculate hw much uve spent trying to fix since it happened.
why are u asking for suggestions and advise on buying an engine? thought u said ur going with ur so called mechanic? or doesnt he know his work again?

I started noticing water in my engine Guage in d mornings..and hard starting whenever I want to drive. I have to press d pedal an Rev before it trips off.

Two days ago the car overheated on my way to work and thankGod I was close so my mech drained d oil and serviced it and warned me to change the engine in no distant time. After servicing..I noticed when I Rev in idle water pours out of the exhaust, so I checked the oil and saw it covered with water. Now it has refused to start.

I am going to purchase a skeletal engine on Saturday. but I hope it wud solve this issue once and for all. I'm going with my mech to get a 2AZ engine . Also how much is the average price of the tokunbo engine and how do I knw if I have purchased a good one. Pls suggestions and advise are welcome. Thanks guys

and yes theres a crime he himself has said something about soaking garri if changing the engine (sure its a joke tho, but no smoke without fire) the crime is penny wise pound foolish. he's gonna end up spending even more now, than if he had heeded the experts advice from the onstart.

Iv changed my engine. I bought it 160k..just call it 200k + workmanship and miscellenous. The car feels like new right now. It's faster than it was when I Bought it . Special thanks to all that contributed immensely. I'm so happy now and my soul is at peace. Happy sunday

Your gearbox shouldn't be affected as a result of engine damage.

You shall not soak garri, unless it's by choice. Heck, you'll get your Camry fixed, and may even be driving a brand new car this time next year.
