GEJ total votes= 22,495,187 Buhari total vote= 12,214,853 GEJ SE votes= 4,985,246 GEJ SW votes= 2, 786,417 GEJ votes - SW votes= 19,708,770 Buhari votes + SW votes= 15, 001,270 Difference= 4,707,500. Verdict: Yorubas were inconsequential in the 2011 presidentdial elections, as with or without their votes, GEj would have still emerged triumphant. NB: Yes, there are Yorubas in Kogi and Kwara, but whatever weight their votes will carry will not bridge the 4.7 million votes deficit, especially when we also subtract the Igbo votes and other nationalities in Lagos, from the SW vote. |

OP is a jellyfish. His maths teacher failed him. Total GEJ vote minus SE = 17, 500,941 Total Buhari vote plus SE= 17,200,099. Difference= 300,842. A difference easily brushed aside when we substract further, the Igbo votes in SW ( Lagos mainly), SS( where we have indigenous Igbo groups ( Anioma, Egbema,Oyigbo)and also large migrant Igbo populations) NC,NW, NE from GEJ and add to Buhari total. Verdict: without Igbo votes, GEJ would have lost the 2011 elections to Buhari. |

pazienza:are there no yorubas, Soth south and other Nigerians in South east. We all know the actual south east vote is note more than 2.5million. The 5million is inflated. The aim of my post is to show that the yorubas did far more than the Igbos in ensuring we had the first Niger delta president. The Igbos did nothing special. They voted just the same way most Nigerians voted Jonathan in 2011. |

atbu1983:Ewu! Facts and figures shows that without Igbo votes, GEJ won't emerge in 2011. It also showed that Yorubas were inconsequential in the outcome of 2011 presidential elections. Only you know what you mean by SE inflated figures. I can as well claim that Buhari votes in 2015 elections in Kano and other northern states were inflated, but that's just my word against established figures. In the end, established figures win, inflated or deflated. Now can you crawl back to whatever part of cursed Edo you emerged from. |

Pazienza, even if we agreed that your votes for Jonathan were irrelevant, why do igbos refer to Yoruba as traitors who voted Ebele out. What happened in 2015 to the SE votes that were super-enough to secure the presidency for Ebele in 2011? I would like a logical answer to this, nothing emotional please. Help me understand. Thanks. |

pazienza:My edo state is blessed with Human capacity and Natural resources. The history of Edo civilisation is known even before Nigeria was conceived. Stop your emotional insults. My post is crystal clear. Without the help of the yoruba people, there wont be Niger Delta president . Without them, Jonathan wont even be a candidate for you Igbos to even vote for. |
| Re: Yorubas fought the North to make Goodluck Jonathan President not Igbos by Nobody: 5:43pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
you guys deliberately downplayed the role of the yoruba in ensuring we have our first Niger delta president so as to make Jonathan your pawn to control. he fell for it. what is the result today? Niger delta people are not ingrate. we are grateful to the yorubas for the struggle. Yes we know vey well that yorubas contributed to his removal, but this was because Igbos blindfolded Jonathan. Making him to appear like an ingrate that he is not. But if look at the 2015 election result, Jonathan got more than 40% of south west votes. that shows they still had soft spot him despite they felt unappreciated. |

Things that I believe led to low voters turn out in the SEduring the 2015 presidential elections. 1. The limited number of voters registration centres. For some reason JEGA and those that controlled him masterminded this. The number registration centres in the SE were so grossly inadequate that after spending Two days in my area registration centre, I still wasn't able to register. Intact, only the crowd at the registration centres will even scare you aware. Those that managed to register in my area told me they came to the registration centre by 3am in the morning. But I came by 4am on the second day, and still wasn't able to register, I found out they had spill over from the previous day, that they had to attend to that day, and they were also doing nepotism and and collecting bribes to get people who I came earlier than registered. Many people were not able to register, they gave up hope after many attempts, they felt it didn't worth the stress. I stay in Enugu, but on a tip off from a close friend I had to go to a rural LGA in Enugu, where the population was less to get registered. This way, many in the SE were disenfranchised. |
| Re: Yorubas fought the North to make Goodluck Jonathan President not Igbos by pazienza(m): 6:30pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
2. Poor planning by GEJ campaign managers in the East. There was no proper orientation of the people of what was at stake in the election, to make matters worst, nearly all the higher institutions in the SE were in exam period during the election, when the proper thing would have been to close down all the higher institutions in the region for atleast two weeks to allow the students to participate in the electioneering process, but that didn't happen, and lots of them students even though they registered could not vote as they were having exam fever, I have many cousins that were affected by this. 3. Taking things for granted: The belief in the SE was that whether we vote or didn't, GEJ would still win, nobody had seen a Nigerian incumbent president lose an election before, many believed that GEJ had JEGA under firm control, all he needed to do was tell JEGA to jump and JEGA would ask him how high! GEJ can always order people to thumb print the voters papers of those of us that didn't come to vote and JEGA will just read out the results With this mentality, the few that registered didn't even care to turn up for the election day, the few that turned up witnessed the same crowd they witnessed during registration process, and simply decided to go back home. I personally would have gone back home after standing under the sun for hours as a result of a malfunctioning card reader, if not because, my polling unit was in a remote village, far away from where I stay in Enugu. |

3. GEJ and his handlers were not pro active: If GEJ knew he was not in control of JEGA from the beginning, why didn't he inform us that rigging will be impossible, that we all must present to the registration centres, why didn't he use his powers to atleast double 4times the registration centres we had in the SE to make sure more people registered, why were the schools in SE not shut down during the election period to ensure more of the youths turned out, why didn't he even encourage underage voters here like they were doing in the North to swell our figures, why didn't he make it clear to us that JEGA was out of his control and that the situation was dire. He just went about like everything was fine, and that it was business as usual. So, everyone down here thought he had everything under control. How could we have known that he was never in control. |

This post is an insult to whoever made this statement.n To be sincere, the ndigbos should desist from any form of association with these people. From what you said, you guys have shown your true colour one more time. this is infact really disheartening. did you check the figures very well before writing this rubbish? now the igbos are the cause of jonathan's problem. very good. i love this. southwest gave a meagre 2.7 million votes with the population of lagos, ogun and oyo states. not counting the number of igbos in lagos and ibadan that voted too. check the number of people who voted for ribadu and compare it to the number of people who voted for him. This is a very good one. |

LouisVanGaal:Some notherners who wanted d presidency to remain in d North wanted to impeach Yar Adua and Jonathan jointly on d basis of incompetence claiming it was a joint ticket. That would have pave way 4 david mark to be president. It would have be easy then because most powerful people in south south then were with the Turai. These are Ibori, uduaghan, silver etc. |
