The worst part is when you see your age mates doing well.. You must feel depressed.

It actually takes a lot of mental strength to make it down here in Nigeria, especially considering the fact that the resources we should have utilised to our advantage as a nation have been frittered away by our primitive and demonic leaders.

To those who are currently unemployed, I encourage you all to be strong, prayerful and determined to succeed despite the enormous challenges that may be staring you in the face. To fail is to give up. To succeed is to continue pushing on. I know it always easier said than done but depression and giving up shouldn't be part of the eqqution. Almost all success stories have some disappointing and depressing moments within them.

What's making it worst is because we had the wrong mindset about life when we were in school. We assumed all shall be fair and ideal once we are out but reality says the exact opposite. We must fight to keep our place. We must be willing to do anything within the confines of legality that shall bring us food. There's no free lunch anywhere.

Yesterday I discussed with a friend who will be going for her NYSC very soon. I told her to go to the NYSC with the belief that she must is coming back to become an employer or self employed. I asked her to come up with a little dream, the financial involvement and how much she must save from her NYSC allowances to be able to finance her dream after the service. Time runs very quickly.

We are supposed to meet later this week. I'm happy she's beginning to see that there is no free lunch any where and that the NYSC period isn't a jamboree but a reflective and thinking period. There's life after the NYSC. She won't remain the same once I'm through talking with her.

I advice every job seeker to learn how to compromise. For instance, if you can't find a job of N60,000-N100,000, why not take a job of N20,000-N30,000? At least until you land your desired job. Idleness doesn't pay.

I know the feeling. But you need to ask them how they're doing it. Summary is, everyone has their own lane of success in life.

hopefully, we will all find our 'lane'..time is running out, the age requirement keeps reducing. I don't know how the OP doesn't want job seekers to be depressed with all these challenges.
God dey. smiley

The key is always keep busy, learn how to fix anything(computers, phone, hair etc) and keep reading new stuff different from what you learnt in school. Stay light on social media too many fakers and explore the Internet and one day something must happen.

great...truth is that there are no jobs outside.

even NGO jobs seem to be flooding the market with their uncertain and temporal nature..imagine adverts for jobs in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno states respectively.

my recommendation is to follow up on friends and colleagues that are working...not to beg them for money but to inquire about opportunities.

again my grouse with Jonathan was that he had the opportunity to fix the country but he looked elsewhere.

another approach is to develop oneself more, nothing stops you from advancing your education and meet a different set of individuals with different perspectives to life.

you can engage in teaching lower classes.

Jonathan is off the stage as far as I am concern. If his administration did not create 'jobs' as you claimed, how many has the new administration created since inception? How many of his policies are even giving us hope of job creation?

I pity those that voted because of free lunch for their school children, N5,000 for unemployed graduates, and other juicy promises. Una go wait tire. angry angry....I also noticed that 'Sai Baba' chanters in my street have gone dumb smiley

is not all about getting a job.
when praying ask God to give u a good job, in my own case am employed but i feel more depressed than someone who isnt working... imagine u being employed as an accountant then made to be a sales assistant from there to being a full time marketer with target set. Sometimes i feel like quitting; going to work every morning with a burdened filled heart not only that, asking me to start coming to a new branch very far from my house without prior notice or additional pay to work as a marketer which i never imagined of. But what can i do?

Quit. You better quit the Job since all you get from it is depression rather than Joy. As a matter of fact, you are not living instead you are dying everyday and soon enough you will realise that you have spent 20 years wasting your life on something you don't like... Bro, just do what you like. Do what you love, love what you do and do it.... Its your life and you deserve to be happy... God bless you.

Nice one at OP. Now you do not have a job, it doesnt mean one should be jobless in all ramification. In your period of waiting for job, make sure you are doing something that is of added value. This is a question your potential employer could ask "what have you been doing in the period you were unemployed?"
