A member of the 2014 National Conference, Akin Oyebode has stated it would be irrational for President Muhammadu Buhari to discard recommendations from the confab report, recommending that an executive committee be mandated to implement vital components of the report.

Oyebode gave this warning during an interview with Daily Trust, warning of an imminent danger if the report is jettisoned on the basis that the conference was initiated during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said insinuations that the report would be discarded by the Buhari-led administration would be disastrous to the nation.

“It would be injudicious to throw away the report of the confab even though it was allegedly convened to promote and project the second term agenda of the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

“Why should we spend so much money and throw the report in trash bin? It would be injudicious and unwise to throw away the report of the confab.”

Shortly before ex-President Jonathan left office, he forwarded copies of the confab report to the National Assembly for action and also informed Buhari that the confab report was more important than his handover note. protecting my own state's interest? lol i have never been to edo state since birth and now am a graduate i hardly give a damn about my state. i am just an african thats all i care much about. making people and state rule and use their God given resources is what i crave for. not some lazy ass states doing less and getting paid. this kind of system breed lazyness. get that

the Nigerian system allows for you to control other sectors of the economy apart fron the one that is crucial to the nations purse e.g crude oil and natural gas, if tomorrow the resource that would be crucial to the national purse is in Bornu every Nigerian would benefit, as simple as it is... If some states were allowed to control there resources it would lead to some huge problems because there would be a wide margin between states I.e the oil producing states and the non oil producing states and it wont be a good thing.
The 13% derivation oil states receive is enough for them if they cant make judicial use of it to develop there economy to the best its there fault and no confab report can fix or change that.

To buhari, Bokoharam and their ilks, the confab is Anti- north.

just like you earlier said you are doing this for the interest of your state. so all your theories are aimed at ur state interest. America has survived a confab type system why do you think some state being rich is a problem?. i even personally want biafra and oduduwa republic drawn out. confab or divide is what i pra for. i personally persive the north as parasites.
