My take on tonights performance;
[ Key players]


1: Team played well, very cohesive and mobile unit except when moves broke down in the final 3rd( as usual)

2: Rooney? Goal aside was pathetic, even empty net he missed? All that running around was an attempt to con the fans!

3; Martial? Average game for the golden boy, seems those cska defenders were well drilled on how to deal with him!

4; Lingaard? Solid running all game and some good latter dribbles and an assist that covered up some of his poor decision making earlier on!

5; Depay? Worst player on the pitch even though he had only about 20 minutes! See free kick? See that cross to the fans? This kid needs more time on the bench (or less karauche time)!

6; Defence was superb "rojo and ashley" were relentless, smalling was imperious, midfield was solid, keeper was @ attention!

Not bad! Were still in this competition big time!

Well as you know, sometimes a player needs to play his way back into form so these small small minutes can only help! He always tries to do too much which is expected of young players who try to "SHINE" instead of being productive!

Even rooney that let him take that freekick out of generosity advised him before the freekick to take it easy but my guy still released a scud missle into the stands!

As for coogars point, why don't you look @ it from this angle also, the philosophy seems to have affected most attacking players in the team and not only depay! Look @ our top consistent performers this season! Smalling? De gea? Rojo? Shaw? Jones? All defensive players! The only attacker really performing is martial and that's because he does his own thing! Defensively we have improved, attack wise not so much! Don't you wonder why?

Depay should n't have taken that kick at all. Earlier, there was a cross he wanted to nick, he ballooned it, one would think he saw fellaini in the sky. Some neurons in his body are dead. He only tried in the build-up to that goal, when he was blocked trying to dribble blindly into awkward space. He was a fun to watch. He should be playing in u-21 team to retrain himself.

As regards coogar's point, martial was tested in the wing and was effective most time doing what depay could n't do, taking on defenders and slaughtering them, coleman was one of the victims. If LVG's philosophy is against such style, why did LVG enjoyed martial in that role and used him there in subsequent matches to the chagrin of most of you guys who preferred him as a central forward? The fact is depay's poor play has nothing to do with LVG. He is a lazy guy in england to take selfies. he is a monumental scam, that's all. Lingaard, did n't have a perfect match but LVG left him on the pitch to continue to disturb the russians and pushed them to the walls. Depay is a fraud that was inflicted on man utd, he is not ready for top level footie.
