I have not disputed he had a good performance, am only saying we hope he even maintains and/or improve on this performance. It was better that the shyte he has been serving us, that's why this improvement looks like he has arrived again.

And we even beg that he maintains this level and hope its not a flash in the pan. The saying about half bread comes to bare here knowing that LvG will not drop him.

rooney was a disgrace for most parts of the game. he was decent to good in the first 20 mins. then he was anonymous for the rest of the game until he scored a sitter from 4 yards.

after the goal, he disappeared again.
meanwhile, young & lingard were good value for money. they didn't hide at any point in the game like rooney did for about 60 mins in the game.

any elite striker would score from that chance. the pass from mata arrived but rooney's lack of a left foot prevented him from taking advantage in his first attempt.

I never said Rooney was the best player yesterday that was Smalling. I just recognize when someone has played a very well.

If either Herrera or Mata played exactly what rooney played yesterday you won't be this critical of their performance infact you'll do the opposite.

Some for the trophy some for top 4 some for mid table and some to avoid relegation

Are Norwich Eibar Sassaulo and Watford playing for the trophy? Are spurs torino sociedad liverpool bilbao Everton playing for the trophy? Is arsenal playing for the trophy

Explain to us how a league is competitive when the top 4 is fixed. 4 positions out of 20. 1/5th of the league
