I want to say a big thank you to Gurus in the house and the Nlanders, people asking relevant and irrelevant questions, all of that contributed to my success story today. I am most grateful to y'all and to God almighty who favoured me.
My transcript goes thus:
Me: Good morning with a warm smile ( just as I learnt here to always keep a smiling face)
Vo: how are you (smiled back)
And said please pass me your documents
Me: I did
Vo: I can see you are going to study Masters of art in TESOL at Murray state Kentucky is that correct ?
Me: yes sir
Vo: okay( typing God knows what)
What was your Bachelors in ?
Me : English Language
Vo: continues typing
When did you graduate?
Me: 2012
Vo: what have you been doing since then?
Me: teaching English language at a secondary school. Vo: what do you want to do with this course after you finish ?
Me: I want to come back to Nigeria to continue teaching English.
Vo: I can see you have a global scholarship blabla how much is the schorlaship and why did the school give you?
Me at this point I was a bit confused cause I didn't really know the accurate figure of the scholarship but thank God my friend who looked at my i20 the previous night mentioned 6k global scholarship blabla so I just quickly said 6k and also said the school granted me that cause of my result, although I didn't really think that was why sha but that's what I said to the Vo and he nodded.
Vo: how many schools did you apply to?
Me: 4
Vo: mention them
Me : I listed them out.
Vo: did any other school give you scholarship ?
Me : No
Vo: who's sponsoring you?
Me: my uncle
Vo: did he sponsor your undergrad?
Me: yes
Vo: I am granting you a visa pls pick up at blabla I didn't wait to here the rest of the story oooo...
He didn't request for a single document oo..
I was super excited, after getting a denial at Canada. God made way for me to Obama land. thank you guys
God bless you all, big ups to all the gurus and Nlanders. Long live Nigeria and Long live Nland. # gracias
My 2kobo is please pray as much as you can cause God answer prayers and also prepare as much as you can and be confident while answering your questions. And success is yours. I wish other Nlanders Gods favour as you go to claim your Visa.

See, the best and cheapest bet for you is to use qatar or emirates to either Houston or North Carolina, then you can find your way to KY either through greyhound or flight. I think one richmond guy is in murray. I've lost their contact So you want to come and spend millions on TESOL abi you wan run

Visa approved at the Lagos consulate on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Below is my transcript.

Me: Yes sir
VO: what are you going to do in US
Me: to do my Masters Degree in Chemistry
VO: how many universities do you apply to and which of them admitted you aside ETSU
Me: I applied to four universities and three of them gave me admission (though I applied to only three but I didn't complete their application since I've been admitted by ETSU)
VO: name all the universities you applied to
Me: I named them
VO: why ETSU
Me: I have a very good conversation with Dr. Scott Kirkby (the graduate coordinator for MS Chemistry) whose research area interest me
VO: that's good. Which course did you study for your B.sc
Me: Biochemistry sir
VO: What are your emphasis in Biochemistry
Me: I told him my research project during my final year ( though I don't know what to say initially but God put a word in my mouth)
VO: that's interesting. Who's your sponsor?
Me: My Dad and also, I was awarded a Merit scholarship by the school (it doesn't reflect on my I-20 so I showed him the letter confirming it)
VO: checked the letter and said I should maintain the required GP in order to maintain the scholarship)
Me: Ok and thank you sir
VO: what does your father do?
Me: He's a building contractor
VO: that's good. How much does he earn
Me: he doesn't have a fixed salary
VO: but you should be able to give the range
Me: 500 - 600K
VO: I will be issuing your visa now
Me: Thank you sir
VO: Do you know Isolo
Me: Yes sir
VO: pick up your visa in there in three business day and good luck
Me: thank you

Key of success :

Fervent praying and fasting

Agreatman, I just saw ur mesage and PM so I will have to search for the mail and send it to you. Be sure you can pay for the tuition for spring hopefully u can get assistantship in Fall.. I doubt you can get any assistantship from the school this spring since the prof has told u his mind.In my own case,a professor initially promised me fund on the basis of expected fund. All the best Bro.
AgreatMan:

Hello, I applied for spring 2016 mining MSc. Yesterday, I spoke with the graduate director at the University of Nevada, Reno. The guy told me that my application for assistantship could not be granted because all the funds went with fall. He also said that no professor has contacted him about giving me an assistantship. So he told me that he could get me admitted but I have to assure him that I will enrol without the assistantship. I told him to give me some time.

So brotherly, I knew you were admitted before you emailed all profs in your school and secured that half assistantship. I will like you to share a copy of the letter you sent to them. You can remove all vital info. What I want is the tone of the letter. my email is johnjbl10@gmail.com. I really hope this whole thing is not too late, though my mailing address is a US one and i20 can get to me really quick. A half assistantship is enough for me, the school doesn't run a doctorate program and those profs have strong industry links and research.

Please house, anyone with details or template on how to craft the letter. My only marketable skills are: Excel, AutoCAD, Word and anything that involves writing. CC slimmy, bigfrancis, imperriox, zazeebee, bbdd and anybody else. I know this is not the normal assistantship route, but Akin3102 has done it on this thread and I believe I can replicate that. I would like to email them today. Thank you all.
