Yes oh Dantata and sawoe are still better than IDC because some roads at gwarinpa are constructed by D&S with good finishing unlike IDC.

IDC can also do a better job if the govt that gave them the contract want it so!.

There is a very good construction company owned by an Anambraman called Benjaf Construction company...... It is based in Anambra & Rivers state!. They can do a better job if given more contracts!. Some of the roads they did in Anambra state can last more than 5 years!.Peter Obi used them in some roads in Agulu & Adazi.There finishing was superb!

150 graduates specially trained on road Maintenance were commissioned today to pilot the Zero Pothole Project of Willie Obiano Administration!.

The youths(50 Persons per Senatorial Zone) are divided into 15 groups of 10 Persons each with Independent Supervisors and complete road Maintenance equipment. Their duties includes continuous & speedy repairs & maintenance of state roads, Road Markings & Traffic Signs!.

This is a 'pure' Revolution going on in Anambra State & I sincerely hope this will last longoooo!

Hmmm! There is no stopping this man now... Willie is aggressively repackaging and rewriting the history of Anambra state.

I see an all sector revolution b4 Willie leaves. Just pray for Another visionary leader who sees governance as continuum, and seek to do better than Willie.

Anthony-Claret Onwutalobi is an education counselor, author, poet and activist, from Anambra,Nigeria. Anthony-Claret was born in Otolo Nnewi in the part of Eastern Region that is known today as Anambra State, and was educated at Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala. Anthony-Claret has been extensively involved in student politics at both school and university. He has held leadership positions in number organizations. As president, he organized the First African convention 2005, in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia to discuss issues facing Africans today. Anthony-Claret has organized a host of cultural and charity events and has fought for the rights of Africans citizens in Diaspora. His zeal for helping the underprivileged is commendable. He has dedicated himself to increasing the profile of young African men and women in the university.



Anthony-Claret relocated to Finland in 2007, where he founded Codewit Global network, an organization that is in the process of renewing the African image and restore black pride in the world and promotes democracy and human rights in Africa. His works has led him increasingly to the conviction that the solution to African problem must be solved by Africans themselves. This idea has led to a development of philosophical thought attributed to him called “Codewism”, where he clarified that the solution to African problems lies in eight key principles. That road just before nkwo market is not passable.
I understand it is a federal road but last year I saw the "Willie is working " sign on it and was elated that it will finally be fixed only for work to stop suddenly and the road left abandoned.

Now motorist take a bypass which is a "private" tarred road through Igboukwu and trucks have destroyed that private road putting the intended users in greater difficulty. If not that the indigenes are civilized they would probably have tolled or blocked it off but now they have to bear the brunt of the state government's neglect.

I wonder how people will pass through that place during the upcoming Christmas period.

If somehow, those road maintenance crew are taught how to maintain roads and gutters as well as build feeder roads and streets, then we have truly started solving the problem of bad roads and unpaved streets in our state.

The truth is that we just dont have enough money to hire foreign construction companies to do every road and street. If we cultivate the habit of using direct labour, it will cut cost and build up our capacity to efficiently maintain our roads

One thing i noticed that was remarkably absent in the road equipment was a portable street marker.
We've got to move away from the third world like unmarked street and highways.
Apart from aesthetics and giving a quick idea where the middle of the road is, Street marking also enable motorist to know how to share the road with other, thus avoiding unnecessary accidents or creating traffic jams by riding in the middle of the road.
Hopefully, we shall get a few portable street markers to begin marking all our streets and bring them to acceptable standard in the world.
