The other day, youths in one church were asked to pay 10k for a few days visit to one pastors hometown. Transport to & fro less than 1.5k.

But on a more serious note, for those of us who don't want to give simply because they think they are making the pastors rich, I seriously think y'all should reconsider. This is because there is a law of nature which states that givers shall receive.

Why do you think they say GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER?

Of course, once you FREELY give straight from the bottom of your heart, you unconsciously trigger this law. But if you hold on tight to you paltry sum, you won't even receive anything in the end.

Look at people like Bill Gates. Why do you think they are always giving alms and donating to charity? Of course, they already know about this law and they are always triggering it to work in their favour for them.

So give it a try. As from today, start giving. Give to pastors. Give to your relations. Give to your friends. Give to people you know. Give to people you don't know. In short, give to everybody who needs it. Remember, it's not only money that you can give.

One more thing, always give because you want to give and not because you feel you are compelled to give and you will see the miracle start working in your life.

You took the words right out of my mouth! The God we serve is not interested in material things! What shall it profit a man to put N1m offering in church every Sunday but still goes out and continues to live a worthless life. At the end of the day, it's our heart and private good deeds that matter most. God will be happier to see us help a poor neighbor with that money instead. Our mentality is so poor that these pastors are banking on their church members. You see pastors these days buying private jet while more than half of his congregation are living in acute poverty. Some things don't make sense!

I'm writing this piece to notify most christian youths of their giving attitude towards God. I remember last sunday when I went to church, when it was time for offering, the girl sitting close to me just removed N20 (yes you heard me right TWENTY NAIRA!) From her purse, inserted it into the envelope and dropped it in the offering basket.

Looking at this lady, her sophisticated dressing, her phone, the kind of perfume oozing out from her, then dropping N20 to her creator.

To me I saw that as an insult to God. It would have been better if she didn't give any offering at all than embarrassing God.

If you love someone and want to appreciate him/her, even if you lack the funds to do so at the moment, you'll still go beyond your limits to prove to that person that you really love him/her regardless of what it'll cost you.

Likewise God. If we say we love him (God), then we should prove it by the kind of offerings we give to him.

If you have a boss you want to appreciate for a promotion he gave to you, would you give him a gift of N20 or N50?

Or you're a final year student whom your HOD just waived a course for so you'll graduate with your mates, would you buy him a gift of N20?

You'll end up provoking him and make him regret offering you that help rather than being commended for the gift.

In 2Samuel 24:24 David said.

I want to charge us today that as we go to our various churches, we should appreciate God, if if we have nothing to thank him for, our being alive should be a testimony of his love towards us. So double your offerings by giving him something that cost you much and I'm sure that he in return would bless you abundantly.
