I totally disagree with you, Probably this is is single most important job to be done in Nigeria today and, the citizens will feel the presence of the government And As far As I am concern, Fashola is one Nigerian who has the track Record to do this job. Off-cause he will have his team to do his job just as he had it as governor, Except now with even more Liberty, without a Control-Freak Master( Tinubu, Though I like him) |

Op seems not to understand that pmb wants to reduce government spending. If I were pmb I won't have more than 12 ministries. Many of these so called ministries are redundant. With these mergers now few people will be doing work not many people on few work then you now have 'ghost workers'. |

Lordave:When those ministries were seperate with separate ministers, did we get the desired results? If Fashola could perform as a h governor of Lagos with all those ministries under him, let's just take it that he has a mini state in the new FEC. With the right permanent secretaries and advisers, he will do just fine. |

Lordave:I believe Fashola to be a man of repute, so, if he can not handle the herculean task given to him by PMB, he should say so and let PMB look for another... Truthfully speaking, I believe its a mistake to merge the ministry of works and power together, both ministry are very sensitive. I look forward and hope that PMB and Fashola will allay our doubts by showing he can handle what is given him. |

Lordave:Bro, as a minister are you expecting Fash to carry hoes and cutlasses, shovels and bricks, or screwdrivers and spanners? NO. NO. NO. It takes sense to administer an office. Mind you he has numerous designates and delegates that will be working with him. His is to invent policies, modulate strategies and and ensure discipline in all functions. |

Lordave:Buhari is very Intelligent. Delegate job to competent hands and relax with little to do. Buhari success depends on fashiola. If fashiola can do this job well, then he is entitle to be president. |

Lordave:@Lordave, you conclusion is be VALID if only BRF would manage the portfolio. We are quick to forget that these Ministries have departments, Agencies, parastatals, Corporations and Companies all linked to them and with respective Chairmen, DGs, MDs and CEOs. We need to start holding the employees responsible and ignore the Minister (who are just representing the President in this offices). PMB made it clear when he assumed office, that those he will hold responsible are the persons charged with running these ministries (Perm Secs), and they are people who have between 20-30 years experience in government business. You can see some sense in appointing the Ministers on the same day he reshuffled cabinet for Perm Secs. PS: One man is the CEO of Google, Microsoft, GE, Chevron, USA, Nigeria, Ghana, Iraq, ISIS, China, etc. WHY CANT one man (BRF) manage Power, Works and Housing? |

APC zombies cannot argue intelligently without insulting or bringing up "wailing wailers". The op raised a salient point, I expected those defending Buhari to give an accurate reason why we should believe otherwise and not throwing tantrums up and down. So do you guys expect us to support Buhari even when he is making grave mistakes; no leader can perform efficiently without constructive criticism. |

Lordave:You fail to understand that power has been unbundled and within a short time ministry of power would only be a supervisory body for only NERC and others. |

Kindly remember that a few nominees where not given portfolios, those onces will work under cumbersome ministries like finance, transport, power works and housing. The whole idea is to cut cost of running the indigenous offices (PA, special assistant, protocol officer, aids etc) let's hope for the best. |

One thing i found in NL is that ppl are either apc or pdp but the fact is that fashola is capable not in where he is been asign ,he should b made minister in justice ministry or related feild.a profestional in the feild that has the practical experience should should b made minister in power or housing not a lawyer or is that how they do in develop country like china,us,uk......my ppl this change is fake....also merging 3 core ministry to b handle by a lawyer #decieving reloaded |

You dont need a technician to handle any ministry but an administrator like Fashola. For me this is the best ever. |

We are already in a post-privatisation era after the unbundling of PHCN. Power generation which is at the core of power is now almost entirely in private hands leaving only the transmission body (TCN) the surviving element. What the country needs at the moment is an active regulator and NERC is that regulator. Thus, the burden on the Power Ministry five years ago is no longer there. With the regulator fully in place, the Minister can be less distracted from his other core areas of Works and Housing. |
| Re: Buhari's Big Ministerial Appointment Mistake by Tycoflu(m): 3:47pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
Lordave:That you are a failure in life and always end up seeing same in others don't make them one like you. An appointment that is not up to 5 hours and you are already seeing failure in it. For your information, min. of power' s job is more of a supervisory one since PHCN has been privated. Also, there is a Par.Sec from the private sector that will be working with Fash. Wailing is only allowed and justified when failure is evident and you will surely be called upon if there is any since spotting failure is your specialty. The only problem this time is that you wont see any except in your imagination. |
