Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole on Thursday accused Lucky Igbinedion, a former Governor of Edo State of embezzling funds for the development of the state. Oshiomole made the allegations at an event organized to mark his 7th year anniversary as Governor of Edo State in Benin-City.

According to Governor Oshiomole, the Igbinedion University Okada, a private university owned by Sir Gabriel Igbinedion, father of former Edo State Governor Lucky Igbinedion, was built with Edo State money.

“There are many files I am yet to open. I am not here to probe the past, but if the past if preventing the present…” Oshiomole said.

Someone tell this man that Dr Gabriel Igbinedion was one of the most successful businessmen of his generation. Igbinedion University as Nigeria's first private University took off even before Lucky the son of Gabriel Igbibedion became the Governor in 1999.

Esama didn't make his money through politics.

You can say Lucky igbinedion is corrupt but not his father who is the founder of IUO:

Esama of Benin kingdom was one of the Richest Nigerians even before his son came into power. One of the Nigerian business tycoons to reckon with in the 70s and 80s even till date. A philanthropist loved by all.

Oshiomole should criticize Lucky and not Gabriel Igbinedion.

Your links are still referring to Lucky Igbinedion not his father Gabriel Igbinedion.

I didn't say Lucky isn't corrupt. Of course every administrator under PDP was corrupt. But for Oshiomole to say that a school that was in place before Lucky became Governor was established with Edo state money is silly and uncalled for.

That was the same way he went to America and came back with fake news on how NOI embezzled public funds without any prove. He claims to have documents of how the Igbinedion's used state money to Establish their University. He should go to court with it.

I watched the 7 years anniversary. Oshiomhole didn't say the school was built with Edo state money. He said the ROADS in the school were tarred with government money. .

Okada Air was owned by Chief Igbinedion. I am very sure that at the time of Okada air Adam was still a factory textile worker.
I suggest that Oyegun should call Oshomole and talk sense into his head. For me, I though Oshomole was a saving grace for Edo, alas, the reverse is the lot Edo people. Before creation of Delta, Edo was great but since Oyegun days, Edo have been left in comatose. Unlike Edo, Delta with all her thieves took off and Edo is just all about Ring Road. Ogba stadium remain a stagnant old edifice, no new development. Delta have since built Asabe, from a village status to a city. Same applies to Warri. Yet here is a governor singing useless change with nothing to show.

They even cheated the oba of benin,law requires he gets 5% but they didn't give him his 5%. Go and compare edo state under their rule and the present state it is clear they ruined the state. Oshio never said they built the university with edo state money because I watched it live he only said their medical students where sponsored by edo state for 6yrs. Which is not right. All the igbinedions know how to do is to throw birthday party for months whereas the average edo man is suffering. Even the oba support oshio he is not perfect but he is far beta that the igbinedions.
