I don't agree with you. I live in Port Harcourt, and I don't see that tendency in them. The Ikwerres have their enclave as well as the Ijaws. What the Ijaws wants is resource control, which I doubt Federal Government will give them... however, lets try and understand each other so that we can move forward. There is still hope for the future.
That man you quoted has believed in his own lies that even the truth should stick out a hand and hit him in the face - He still won't recognize it.

It is that bad...

While I was looking for the article I was telling you about pazienza, I cane across this one that I also think you'll find interesting
Ijaw shun Obasanjo’s talks on N-Delta Chief
Oyibo News

THE Ijaw have rejected the stakeholders meeting on Niger Delta convened by President Olusegun Obasanjo on April 5. The Ijaw call it a jamboree conference and another gimmick by the Federal Government to frustrate the Ijaw people.

Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, who announced the position of his people in a statement yesterday, said the problem was an Ijaw problem and appealed to President Obasanjo to open dialogue with Ijaw leaders and youths to find a lasting solution to the Ijaw problem.

His words: The decision of the Federal Government to call the jamboree meeting conference has come to the Ijaw as a shock and is seen as another gimmick of the Federal Government to frustrate the Ijaw and not to take them seriously.

Let it be known that even though Edo State and Cross River State are in the Niger Delta, there is no way the Niger Delta man in Auchi and the Niger Delta man in Ogoja will appreciate or understand the problem of the Ijaw man in Okerenkoko in Delta State. Let us be realistic and call a space a spade, he said.

President Obasanjo, according to his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs. Oluremi Oyo, summoned the meeting of Leaders of Thought of the Niger Delta coastal states to deliberate on issues of engagement with the relevant groups in the region, dialogue, confidence building, employment creation and the re-building of the wholesome community spirit in the region.

Among those expected at the high-level meeting are traditional rulers, elected officials, community leaders, youth leaders and other relevant leaders and stakeholders within the community.
But giving reasons why the Ijaw would not be part of the meeting, Chief Clark said: From our past experience, we have discovered that such omnibus meetings and conferences have been hijacked by people who have no stake in the problems of Ijaw people. We have been labelled as trouble makers, war mongers, agitators, hostage takers, pirates, pipeline vandals, bunkerers and as a group of people with no focus or foresight but always causing problems for the Federal Government.

This was clearly the case during the Kiaima Declaration crisis where Ijaw youths were killed, wounded and property destroyed. After the military invasion, we took our case to the Federal Government under the military administration of General Abdulsalami Abubakar. What did he do? He summoned a jamboree conference to Abuja where series of meetings were held at the Villa. The main object of the dialogue was lost because we never understood ourselves.

The problems of the Ijaw can never and will never be solved at the jamboree conference like the one being proposed by the Federal Government to take place next Wednesday where all traditional rulers, youths and opinion leaders across the Niger-Delta are invited.

Chief Clark said with the final release of the total of 13 hostages, the Federal Government should enter into a dialogue, constructive and purposeful negotiation with the Ijaw, including the elders and youths. That is, serious discussion with the federal and state authorities if we are to avoid and prevent any such crisis.

The whole world recognised the naked fact that the Ijaw people in whose area over 70 per cent of the oil and gas which sustain the economy of Nigeria is produced are the poorest and most neglected people in the whole of the federation. The question is now being asked: Why is it so? It is a well-known fact that all over the world, the oil producing communities are the wealthiest but in Nigeria, they are the poorest. The reason can only be given through dialogue, far from intimidation, coercion, manipulation by the government with the Ijaw including elders and youths, he said.

You see. This was the reason why I kept telling you people that "Biafra should be Igbo only". Also the reason why i refuse in hell to join any ND republic. I rather have my balls cut

Knock yourselves out.

I have told you people to learn to differentiate political parties leaning, party affliation from regional issues that bothers on emancipation - There is a thin line between them which is always catastrophic when completely misunderstood.

As a Niger Deltan I would be more skeptical in going into any arrangement with a man that has continuously shown that he's not menatlly fit to start a secession move on a colossal level - My Dad use to say that if you must go to war you must be prepared to win because if you lose ,you'll understand the power of domination.I guess you are all yet to wake up and think beyond knives and guns - Most wars are won by ideology and not by fighting alone.
grin grin grin @ the bolded, so you are now a 'niger deltan". When are you going to become a SS man? grin You battymen are the most confused set of clowns I swear. Your penchant for changing identity is as fast as you betray yourselves (see Edwin Clark turn his treacherous back at his so called son GEJ).

Let me recommend the following identities for your sorry ar.se and follow the corresponding timeline as it may lead you to resource control:

Identity 1: South Delta: to be used from 2017-2019
Identity 2: South South Niger : to be used in 2020-2023
Identity 3: Delta Niger south: Use in mid 2024-late 2027
Identity 4: Delta south delta: assume this identity from 2028 till further notice grin
Re: The South South And The Niger Delta People's Thread by ikechu1278: 8:13pm On Nov 15, 2015
I found the article. Btw: messed up on the author. He's ndoki but not from oyigbo side

The Amnesty Program introduced by Pres. Musa Yar’Adua in 2009 is set to end this year. This program was put in place as one of the measures to address the Niger Delta insurgency by the late President.

If Pres. Yar’Adua were alive today it is doubtful that he would have recognised the program operated by Kingsley Kuku as the one he set up to address insurgency in the Niger Delta, which was seen as a result of inhuman conditions in that part of Nigeria.

Some of us had always believed that the Niger Delta insurgency was more about criminal enterprise than agitation for improvement in the conditions of a people.

For the avoidance of doubt let me state clearly that I believe that the devastation of the area known as the Niger Delta by oil exploration and exploitation is real. I have seen the effects of these in the Ogoni, Okrika, ONELGA and Beyelsa areas. I have seen rivers with oil floating on them, which of course means that aqua life in that area is completely destroyed.

Fishing is no longer taking place in the rivers and streams within and outside my village, Azumini in Ukwa East local government area of Abia State. As a matter of fact, the Azumini Blue River is fasting turning into a black stream because of the effects of oil exploration in the area.

The Azumini Blue River runs from Aba through Azumini to Igwenga and even Opobo. Many years ago it was a smuggling route for people bringing in goods from Cameroon. Most importantly it attracted tourism as foreigners came to  enjoy themselves at our beaches.

As a student I always looked forward to spending the holidays in my village. The few days I was allowed to go to my village were spent swimming in the blue river, catching and roasting fishes for lunch with my friends as we watched tourists come and go in their canoes.

It was business for adults who engaged in fishing and canoe transportation. For the young and tourists, it was swimming and games. No longer! The blue river is gone, pretty much. There will not be a chance to teach my children to swim in that river. My age mates who are now adults living in my village cannot earn their living from the blue river.

The Amnesty program became an ‘Ijaw’ bailout program. I say Ijaw in quotes because not all ' 'Ijaws' qualified for the program. People were discriminated against because they were not ‘Ijaw’ enough.

A special class of Ijaws were created. As an Ndoki man I was always told that I am 'Ijaw' in Ibo land. With the Amnesty program I was no longer 'Ijaw'. I remember having a conversation with a former President of Ijaw National Congress. He debunked my 'Ijaw' heritage by telling me that I was more Ibo. He explained that for political purposes he could accept me as Ijaw but ‘in the economic sense you are not Ijaw.’ I retorted that I am proud to be Ibo.

The Amnesty program made millionaires and billionaires of people who should be in maximum security prisons or on death row for the blood of innocent people their hands. The likes of Ateke Tom, Farah, Sogboma George, Tom Polo became celebrities and billionaire business men.

There are stories of some of these militants living in mansions in Abuja and Lagos, with a retinue of Nollywood actresses adorning their beds and living rooms. Tom Polo became a replacement for the Nigerian Navy as he was given the contract of protecting Nigeria’s territorial waters and paid the kind of money the Nigerian Navy have not seen in all its history.

Asari Dokubo, Ateke Tom, and Tom Polo were given contracts to protect Nigeria’s pipelines and other oil installations. Yet, pipeline vandalism is on the increase. These contracts were supposed to help take care of their ‘boys.’

The entire Amnesty program is based on a fraud. The number of so-called ‘militants’ were inflated with the direct connivance of then Vice President Goodluck Jonathan. The 30,000 people they are claiming as ex militants is a huge lie.

Contracts were awarded to people to train these militants in trade and professions. Who are those who got these contracts? Girlfriends, mistresses and hangers-on were given contracts in the hundreds of millions by the Amnesty program.

I remember watching Kingsley Kuku climb into a private jet at the Portharcourt International Airport a few years ago. I asked around and was told that he travels by private jets. I remember sending a message to Timi Alaibe, his predecessor and former boss asking him if the Niger Delta Amnesty program had a private jet.

Typical of the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the Amnesty program has not served the people it was meant for. Instead of developing the Niger Delta area and creating jobs for its youth, monies have lined a few people’s pockets and poverty has persisted. It has been an orchestrated act of pretend.

A few youths were taken out of the country and trained in professions they have no chance of practicing in Nigeria. I believe these were done to cover up money laundering by officials of the Amnesty program. Some officials even set up ‘schools’ overseas where they sent these youths.

Ateke Tom went from being a man on the run to becoming the de facto ruler of the Okrika people with the connivance of former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. Ask any Okrika person and you will hear stories of dictatorship and oppression of the people by High Chief Ateke Tom.

No gathering, including weddings, birthday parties and even thanksgiving can happen in Okrika without Ateke’s permission. People take permission from him to construct houses in Okrika. Is this what the Amnesty program was supposed to be about?

I do not know of any Ndoki or Asa youth involved in the Amnesty program. Are the Ukwa East and West people not supposed to benefit from the Amnesty  program or we are not ‘Ijaw’ enough?

The Niger Delta Amnesty program as we know it should end. It has neither helped the Niger Delta area nor the people. The Buhari administration, if it wants to continue the program, should make direct investments in the Niger Delta area through infrastructure development. This will generate employment. Can anyone imagine what would happen to the economy of the Niger Delta if there was a sustained construction of roads, water plants, houses, bridges, hospitals, schools and hotels?

Can we imagine how many jobs would be created with the development of new cities between Bayelsa and Delta States, between Rivers and Abia State, between Akwa Ibom and Abia State, between Cross River State and Akwa Ibom state, between Rivers and Imo State? We would automatically have created at least 5 economic corridors in the Niger Delta.

Our universities and polytechnics can be tasked to design programs to train the youths who wish to further their education. It is a more viable and economically sound option than sending them to foreign lands.

We should not be too proud to admit that the Niger Delta Amnesty program has failed. The Buhari administration should come up with better ideas on how to develop the Niger Delta region and her people.

The government should be reminded that the Ndoki and Asa people of Ukwa East and West in Abia state have not benefited from the Amnesty program. Neglecting us further may result in future governments designing an Amnesty program for our people. We know how the others got theirs and we are not averse to emulating profitable lifestyles, even if a few us lose our lives in the process.

Hmmm...this thread was meant to bring together the various ethnic groups in the SS, yet the very same biafran roach crew are trying to derail it by trying to plant seeds of.discord amongst. Sorry it wont work. Besides i never came across any point where my Ijaw or Edo brothers and sisters tried to lay claim on the whole region.

The sorry attempts to derail this thread clearly shows that these biafran leeches/parasites are still keen on latching on to SS lands despite the numerous rejections across the region. For the umpteenth time, WE ARE NOT INTERESTED. Just stick to your earlier advise and LEAVE US ALONE.

Oh one more thing: any biafran tout that believes that we will cede an inch of our territory is truly living in lala land. Never ever mistake our silence for weakness, just as your loudness as a cover for your proven cowardice (history proved that).

So i strongly suggest you clowns and leeches go open or derail some other Igbo thread.
