I was able to open an international students' bank account with ANZ Bank. I got my account details in 2 days. I can fund the account directly but I only have to provide my stamped passport and boarding pass on arrival in Australia to be able to withdraw.

I agree with the response the other person sent earlier on as to why BCIE requests for SOA. They have a 99% success rate in getting Aussie Visas for their clients. Just to mention, I witnessed a scene at BCIE Abuja office in September where a client brought in his bank statements before they even started his application at all for Aussie school. I took my sis to their office on this day. So I think it's their norm to maintain their high standards.

That said, if you have a bank statement, Pls provide it to them. It is all for good anyways. And if you have reservations for whatever reason towards providing the SOA, please meet with them, talk with them and agree on something. Tell them whatever is behind your not wanting to give your SOA now and agree on the next steps. Just confront the situation and be open with them. Tell them the school doesn't require it, that you have made necessary findings from the school and also your friends who are currently studying in the school.

I think you can appeal the decision.

Alternatively, you can find an occupation the associate degree can fit into and go for it. It doesn't matter if you come in as an associate, you can always get a job you want in your field of expertise.

Nope, not yet in RMIT, although I've gotten admission. I'm on the visa issue now. Chi50 just went to Melbourne some days back, guess she will be able to give us update soon.
