“we Will Resign If Okorocha Takes Our School To North” by Nobody: 11:44am On Nov 16, 2015
The decision of Imo state Government to transfer teachers to the North under the exchange policy of the Rescue Mission have been declared unacceptable by activists and labour leaders in the state. Our reporter who went round some local government areas of the state to monitor things revealed that the pronouncement of the governor on the transfer issue is now generating ripples as teachers in the rural areas of the state have vowed to resist Okorocha in his transfer arrangement. “We shall leave this teaching job for him if he insists that some of us should be transferred to the North”, the aggrieved teachers submitted. It would be recalled that the governor at the Hero’s square during the Teachers Day Celebration declared that he will transfer some teachers to Adamawa State, adding that some teachers here are idle. The governor also disclosed that he will merge some schools to get the right size he needed to function effectively. Following the latest development, the Ministry of Education has been directed to swing into full action to get the exact number of school children in various schools and teachers. Igbolive learnt that any school that is less than 80 will be closed down as teachers in such schools will be forced to go on transfer to somewhere else, even outside the state. Imo teachers are now planning to send a delegation to the state governor to drop the policy or they will all resign in mass.

.
Can you imagine some schools having less than 80 students? 80 students divided by 6 classes (i.e. primary 1 to 6)= 13.33. That means some schools have an average of 13.33 students per level and there are teachers earning salary monthly in that school. Wont it be economical to merge those schools? My brothers and sisters, should we see everything only from political perspective?

Have you bothered to ask the location of those schools and the demographics of the host communities?

If a school in town A has just 80 kids due to low population and Town A is 20km from the nearest Town B, does that warrant closing down the school?

Even at that, if the dunce goes ahead and shuts the schools down must he transfer them to the north?

Why should Imo tax payers fund Adamawa education?

Okorocha is a confirmed awusa bastard for just thinking of this.
