Meanwhile, System Specs, the company that owns Remita, the e-payment and e-collection software used by the Federal Government to implement payments into the Treasury Single Account (TSA), has written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on the controversy surrounding the 1% processing fee charged on inflow into the TSA. The company in the letter dismissed allegations of wrongdoing, explaining that it was contracted by government in 2011, when President Goodluck Jonathan was still in office, whilst Emir Lamido Sanusi was Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The company further dismissed allegations made against it by Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West) that the firm was making about N25 bn daily as commission, saying it made about N3 billion from the 1% processing fee as its share since the implementation of the project. System Specs said it actually shared the processing fee with banks affected by the implementation of the TSA and the CBN in ratios of .5 %, .4% and .1%, respectively. It is clear that during GEJ era he trusted Sanusi to enlist an ethical collection agent but Sanusi in his usual character enlisted one of their own, REMAITA. GEJ was so prudent not to kick-start the TSA because of the N25B loss or leak implication per month. Oduah was sacked for buying two bullet proof vehicles for N150M yet we are clapping for wiping of a whole N25B/ per month. Currently, no bank is permitted to charge COT on govt. account so why collect charges on TSA, its against ethical standards. The TSA is not expected only taxes and receivables, on the receivables like taxes and levies should be subjected to charges equivalent to the current COT regime of N 1/1000 (0.1%). Alternatively, the commercial banks will be happy to manage the money / collection free just to enjoy the float. If the intention was to prevent losses then it has not solved the problem. Its a good intention but should be reviewed. 1 Like |

My governor just likes to talk. GEJ contracted this company but lacked the political spine to execute it. |

Does this country really have hope with the quality of minds that have commented here you just wonder.Where in the world will a company collect 1% of transactions, the least I've seen is 2.5%. The 1% is even shared with the banks and CBN. Ignorance is truly Bliss 2 Likes |

No doubt, Fayose's idiocy is on an ascendancy. . . it should be allowed to fluorish till he becomes a hopeless case. 5 Likes 1 Share |

dammytosh: When PDP was in Power, it was okay for Systems Spec to implement REMITA..... and okay by Fayose! The dofus and Eediot called Fayose did not raise ANY ALARM since 2011, when Badluck Jonathan signed these silly agreement with System Specs! Now that PDP has lost Power, Fayose has suddenly taken delivery of his "missing brain" and crying wolf! Meanwhile, it was the humongous corruption of Ebelete Jonathan, that could sign such corrupt agreement where one company makes such Huge Income within so short a space of time. Even Microsoft that produces the windows that Billion of people use, does no make money at that rate. System Specs knows this and that is why it is "threading softly" less its Corporate Leaders end in JAIL and the company is completely proscribed. Going forward, the company must agree to a specific amount, irrespective of how much passes through such its "software system". System Spec cannot be the beneficiary of that TSM policy...... it is meant to save money for the benefit of Nigerians. #500 Million "one-off" payment and that is it. In addition, l think EFCC and DSS needs to focus on these Bank Executives who are aiding and abetting corruption. They are beginning to behave like they are above the law. As for Fayose, if he does not remit the money into the TSA as directed by the Federal Govt, the Government at the center should just withhold its Monthly allocation...... and let us see what he would do. he thinks Ekiti State is Lagos State (with big IGR)... or that he is Tinubu in terms of intellect! Silly Cow Nuff said! Lastpage! 4 Likes |

papawemba: Am ashamed honestly. Just read comments here and wonder how and why we got to this stage. The level of illiteracy in this country is alarming. I can tell you 80% of the people here did not read everything in that useless rants and have also not read all the truth about REMITA and SystemSpecs that have been in public space since 3 days ago. Education needs to be fixed in this country. I am most ashamed because lots of foreigners especially Africans come to this forum. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Fayose if you are reading this, please kindly tell us who owns Remita so our mis-informed populace especially the youths who are fond of passing judgements and sentence based on what they read or hear even when they don't have sufficient facts, can let us hear word. Stop heating up the polity for your obvious gain. If you know the owners why are you making so much noise. If they mention the owners will you agree with them or still come out to say its a lie. I pity whoever allows his or herself to be deceived by Fayose or other disgruntled politicians who are looking for people to share in there bitterness and sorrow. Tell Fayose to mention the owners or shut up. 3 Likes 1 Share |

But this REMITA chopping na the baba. Any entry or exit is charged 1%. See money. Peope argue using other e-payment platforms, but those ones don't get billions of transfers daily when compared to treasury single account. I support scrapping of this monopoly. Let the e-payment be spread among different companies |

Don't be daft 1% isn't a flat rate especially when the figures run into trillions. How the hell can you logically defend accruing billions in a day? even if you minting money you can make that much in a day Fayose is obviously nt the sharpest tool in the box but he is definitely on to something dammytosh: |

uracocksucker: You must have been the accountant to know how Billions go in Daily. One eediot signed the agreement right ? If it is your company and you signed, you will go and renegotiate that you are suffering from too much money. Don't be sentimental, be realistic and let cupability stay where it belongs. |

Gaskia: Just look at how purile you come across? GEJ was "Prudent" not to implement a contract he signed? A whole Commander-in-Chief is afraid to kick-start a contract he awarded? If he thinks the contract is WRONG, a C-in-C with "balls" will simply cancel the contract or ask for ti to be reviewed downwards! Now, you are trying to shift the blame to Buhari... who simply asked the States to direct all incomes into the TSA Account (which is a sound decision in itself). The fact that the company (system Specs) has collected some income in the past (before Buhari became President) under President Jonathan, shows that Ebelete Badluck Jonathan is part of the SCAM and is probably using some cronies to front and collect his share of the money. But with Buhari in power, even the compnay itself has "jejely" refunded all the "excess money" it collected under Jonathan. This goes to show (as against its claim of "goodwill" that the company knew what it was doing was "ethically wrong" but since it started under a "Jonathan Lootocracy".... System Specs knows and observes as well as comply, that a New Sheriff is in town. I trust Buhari, he will quickly review the fee downwards, to a more sensible amount. This is another example of how that "clueless thief" called Jona-Daft, has tried to destroy this country with its kleptomaniac band of Looters. May God punish all those who try to ruin this country. We're in big trouble. We are talking about 1% of our GDP as all government revenues must be handled by Remita, not even part of our earnings. For transferring N1,400,000,000,000 which was done within 1 month, Remita got paid N14,000,000,000 (fourteen billion). Within a space of 10 months this Remita company could be richer than Dangote and Adenuga combined. Mind you, Remita is just a website, not even a company. It's a website that woudn't cost more than N50,000 to maintain. The name of this country is fraud!. |

anonimi: Complex Project.. Yes it is.. Lag time between Conception and Implementation argument is a moot one. By the time the Jonathan Government signed the agreement with REMITA and co, I am sure they were well past conception.. Otherwise that would only reinforce his "Reetardeen" title. How do you enter into a contract for something you haven't even fully thought through.. #Settled! On your second point.. If you know of any "Systematic" changes Jonathan made to reduce corruption in his government, please speak now.. I know of none. 1 Like |

chopido:I am not sure if they are paying that company that much as the company said they only get 3billion naira.. Mind you in the past Govt use diffrent account with different banks and won't the bank collect % too? So if we have to leave it like that bank will earn more than the company.... You can see why most banks too are complaining cos those money was use to transact some business and also give loans to some state Governors. |

ceemere: Oponu, go to system specs website and check their board of directors or you think some one can just wake up and be asking f00lish questions ? So GEJ does not know the owners before signing agreement. oh guess Fayose is your Hero, that shows your mental capacity. |
