@OP, i'm also the shy type but the one time i tried this it worked.

The girl was standing infront of me ,her hair had this nice scent. I just out of nowhere,unconsciously told her 'hey,ur hair smells really nice'. She turned and faced me,with her face beaming with smile. Before i knew it she started doing all the talking. In less that 2mins we were gisting like two long time friends.

Girls like compliment(s) alot. So just look for something sweet about her to comment on(me i dnt like telling a pretty girl she's pretty. She don too over-hear am from other people)

Note:not all girls will respond tho', just get ready to swallow whatever type of negativity that comes out, some may even think u a perv.
