I'm not sure the pictures of the car you posted can pass for a restoration job.

There basically is nothing to restore there.

I tire for the topic and the content oo.
However, this ride is a beast. I'll like to see what will come out of it
hope you too are still following and probably shifting grounds on ur earlier statement.

Meanwhile I don't like how this 18" rim looks on the car. Wheel arch looks like it can take 20 inches comfortably but Lagos potholes love to put dents on big rims.

The Lord shall be your strength. that ride is gonna be a head turner wherever it goes. The whole money spent would be definitely worth it.

Thanks dumo1,

I sent this thread to the man's son, he showed his dad and the man says he might buy back the car when its done....lol

.........where he saw a dying car with issues eventually ending up at the scrap yard, I saw one with loads of potentials. He imported it 2010 and tried all types of mechanics and makeshift parts but eventually got tired of the car. Like a lot of us in naija, after 5 years the car had reached its expiry date. Time to dump it and move on.

The car is almost "a born-again" now.

I'm also excited about this project of yours. The 350z has always been my favourite sports coupe from its peers.

Whenever I bump into you, I might pull you over to admire the work done.

But if you are able to catch me while drifting through traffic, I'll be glad to let you admire the car.

I haven't been in Lagos lately, so not much has been done on the car. Seats are being done and should be ready tomorrow. The issue with jobs done in ur absence is the guys will do it to their own taste. The upholstery guy is already pissing me off. He got a different shade of blue leathers from what I showed him and has almost finished sewing. When I get back, he might have to start afresh. Body preparation and paint should start this week hopefully.

The Nissan 350Z brings memories. My first favourite car. I had a poster of an orange one as a kid and so I love the ride. Nissan is my favourite brand.

Great to see the work you're doing man. Keep us posted.

Another Hater spotted. Wikipedia tells me that "Automobile restoration is the process of repairing the degraded aspect of an automobile to return it to an overall "authentic" condition. If you can't afford one, dn't rubbish another.

A simple dictionary states that "restoration is the act or process of returning something to its original condition by repairing it, cleaning it, etc"

Thats all I am doing here. Repairing and cleaning it back to its original condition.

I never said I was rebuilding the car like Master Siena does cheesy. Siena even commented he would love to see it restored to an OEM+ state. Maybe I have to fit in a W16 Bugatti engine before this qualifies as a restoration. But bad belle is allowed.

Difficult picking one of these two paint patterns.

Re: 2003 Nissan 350z Restoration by Nobody: 5:35pm On Nov 21, 2015
I'm not a fan of 2-tone paint jobs on modern cars. But either of the colour schemes as pictured above will set off your freshly trimmed interior perfectly.

The first combo is better. I knew u were going for this, after I saw couple of 350z restoration videos on YouTube.

Maybe the choice also depends on the set of rims that is going in. The 2nd choice might be better if the front bumper is all gonna be dipped in blue and not having a Nation's Flag appearance.
