In Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa, crude oil are mined onshore.if there should be a new refineryto be built, these states should be considerd first because it is more cost effective and also factor the logistics required.

Your arguments and mine arent the same..Nigeria can import refined petroleum produtcs from refineries based in Mars, i dont care.

Im of the opinion that if a refinery is to be built anytime in Nigeria to ease the shortage of petroleum products, Akwa Ibom as the site would be more expensive..at this time when we are being economical with resources, unnecessary expenses should be avoided..refineries should be built in states where the crude to run it and the ease to distribute it to Nigerians will be easier..Akwa ibom IMO doesn't come across as the most cost effective.

.......and whatever you have against Yorubas,Hausas, Igbo, Ikwerre, Ijaw etc, free yourselves else you choke on your hate.

Have you factored the cost of building pipelines from the myriad of oil wells to a single point refinery?

Have you considered the built up areas that you intend passing your pipelines through?

Building a coastal refinery in Akwa Ibom near oil jetties which will be supplied by coastal pipelines is cheaper and far more easier to build.

There is also the gain of transporting refined products via ships to the adjourning coasts for onward transfer in land and even for export.

But you won't know that because you want the refinery in osogbo

Basic economics will tell you that the subsidized retailer will never ever be able to meet demand.

The only solution to this constant fuel scarcity is to remove subsidies.

Subsidies where introduced by the paternalist military governments to distract you from their massive looting.

Today, subsidies can not be maintained and the only people benefiting are not the masses but the uber rich who scam the system.

These same subsidy crooks are the ones who oppose the passage of the PIB. Some of them even own refineries abroad!.

Pass the PIB and see how the downstream sector will spring up and create wealth and hundreds of thousands of jobs!

Ak-Ibm State is a viable locatn. But it wil actualy cost less to site a refinery near an onshore oil field. E.g, Kokori Oilfield (locatd onshore) produces 90,000 barrel of oil p/d, enorf crude to feed a single refinery. Dere is expansiv landmass around to accomodat a refinery. D oil wells ar already connectd to d flwstatn, nd wat remain is just to link d refinery to d flowstatn wit pipelines.
