Hello awesome NL fam, happy weekend to y'all.

There is a current trend that is ''ugly'' to me.

And I want to just drop my 2 cents on the issue.

Everyday when I visit the internet, it's not surprising to see most of our youths typing statements in the line of:

* I am broke...

* I need to make some money.

* This government is failing us bla bla bla.

It's not surprising because it is well documented that a lot of downsizing, resizing, restructuring and all the ''res'' takes place in the corporate world on a daily basis.

The economy is experiencing a free fall.

There is simply a shortage of jobs.

And yes, government has failed.

But do you know what?

You don't have ''the right'' to blame government. Government has no responsibility over your life.

Everything and anything that happens in your life is up to you. You own the responsibility, and not until you own up to that, you are NOT going anywhere.

You will continue to blame the government.

You will continue to blame your parents.

You will continue to blame everyone and everything around you but yourself.

Brian Tracy, a world-renowned salesman and coach realized this years ago, and that became the turning point of his life.

All the successful people you see around realized this too, long ago.

How Do You Take Responsibility For Your Life Then?

Allow me ask you a question: what have you done for yourself to improve your finances?

Most of the people who complain everyday about being broke, do NOTHING productive all day. They sit at home, eat mama's food, watch TV... And when there's power failure they pick up their phones, log onto one social media or the other and become keyboard warriors.

And at the end of it all, they throw blatant jabs at the government and rain down abuses on the ''head'' of anyone who ''steps on their screen''.

All well and good. Really good of you to blame the government.

But do you know the time you have wasted on the internet doing all of that could have been used in learning something useful?

Fine, you might say I have gone from office to office in search of jobs, but I have hit a wall every single time.

So, why not try something else apart from going from one office to the other in search of elusive jobs?

Back to Brian Tracy. This man has done over $50M in sales in the last 5 years. Many people see him as a successful salesperson, and they are like ''wow''.

What MOST people do not know is that, he never finished high school.

He was sacked severally by unforgiving bosses in jobs were he earned peanuts.

But as the story goes, the day he realized that HIMSELF - not the government, not his parents, not his friends, not the people around him, neither anything else - was SOLELY responsible for the direction his life was to take, that day he grabbed hold of his life's steering wheel and made a U-turn.

By the next month, he had made more than a giant leap in his career as a salesman.

Do You Know What Brought About The Breakthrough?

I will tell ya...

Having realized that he needed to own up to the responsibility of his life, it dawned on him that he needed to master one skill to become wealthy... And that was the skill of SELLING.

I ask again, what have you done for yourself to better your finances, ye who blame the world for your plight?

Take responsibilty for your life today... And learn one skill.

That skill could be anything. It doesn't necessarily have to be selling.

My younger sister learnt to bake cakes by simply watching youtube videos on my laptop when I wasn't using it.

So, don't even say, ''where the money when person wan take learn skill?''.

If all the time you've been firing e-bullets at a government that's oblivious of your existence, you had dedicated it to doing one or two research(es) on search engines and youtube, I am very sure you'd have discovered something that will help you better your finances.

The world has developed enough where it's easy enough to make cool cash. Especially on the internet.

The other day the hastag, #our5k trended on twitter.

It amazed me. Why will young Nigerians be hoping on 5k a month when they can earn TRIPLE that in a single day, working for just a few hours online? That was the question I asked myself.

Now, I know many of the people who made that hastag trend were just ''having fun''. But on the major part, the others were really serious with the battle.

And these are the people this post is trying to address.

In my opinion you have not done enough to rid off that broke syndrome that drives you mad, sad and frustrated.

All you have to do today is accept responsibility and learn a skill. If you do these, you may very soon hate yourself for all those times you put an envelope firmly under your armpits and roamed the streets in search of a job.

I hope someone gets to take this post in his/her stride and do the right thing.

P.S. I am not been ''holier than thou'' here. I once had the problem of laying blames too and being ''irresponsible''.

cheesy. I agree that this is kind of long, but it'd surprise you to know that I practically refrained myself from going on and on and ooooooon! Simply because I know more than half of the people who will visit the thread will not bother to go through the whole content.

I quite disagree with you about your definition of a broke person. That's your opinion though, and I respect it.

But you should also note that some salary earners usually complain of broke-ness too. Why is that? It's simply because they have no money management skills...
