Just as Americans who produce movies spread black power? wink wink

We're making money out of your past tragic suicidal mission.

Well, not very much it seems, some of those films are grossing less than the production cost...

I apologise for that because you are not like those stup1d e-warriors.

You are very funny. I am sure one thing Yorubas are well known for is their pride in their language, culture and heritage, no matter how westernised we grow.

We are proud of our film industry and that was while we could pioneer a local language film station on DSTV, because the audience was there. But, we will not allow some people to lay claim to an industry that belong to the whole country.

Therefore, Nollywood comprises of all the films produced in Nigeria. If igbos want an exclusive igbo dominated industry, they need to create Igboplank of Biafraudwood.

It's good that you are proud of that, so stop rejecting the name of your movie industry which is Yoriwood.
As for Nollywood, take your eyes off it. It was created by Ndị Igbo and has remained an Igbo dominated industry. Y'all can't do nothing to change that.
Apology accepted by the way. No hard feelings. wink

Igbo TV is up and running and even more profitable than the yoruba station. Anyway, whats the need for an igbo stattion when Nollywood is 98% Igbo

But even northerners that see non Muslims as infidels want to marry Igbo babes. Ntor!

Better put, your babes are dying for the big, strong and reliable ruddy piper of an aboki because the igbos guys are not talented enough.

As usual, it will be a case of noise making and chest beating without performance to back it up in bed.

I don't know, I don't have experience with northern 'ruddy pipers' (by the way, you seem very merry about that), so, yeah, whatever, I'll take your word for it. I don't know.

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, It was not created by Igbos. If you want to create a movie industry that is exclusive for igbos, you will either create it Enugu or Aba.

Nollywood is for Nigerians.

Yoriwood is for yorubas.

kannywood is for northerners.

Ibibio and efik films are for ibibios and efiks.

Where are the Igbo films?

English speaking Nollywood is like 20% Igbo. That's why you guys know all these little words. Nollywood is like a Trojan horse for the Igbo language. Ask Kenyans.

That 20% clearly isn't the popular percentage because I don't know anybody that watched Igbo speaking movies. They just aren't popular. I'm sorry if that offends you but the truth hurts.

If Nollywood is 98% igbo dominated could it still be said to belong to the whole country? When you watch nollywood film, what culture is being projected?

I hate "Yoriwood" it doesn't sound right. Just call it the Yoruba Movie Industry.

As for the Igbo speaking films.. they are very much like the Igbo language itself. Non existent and largely ignored.

Yes Nollywood is an English/Igbo industry. Also, Nollywood is based in Lagos, Asaba and Enugu, and it is being controlled by ndị Igbo in these cities.

MegaMan1987:

But Nollywood isn't Igbo speaking is it? It's ENGLISH language. And it's based in LAGOS a Yoruba state...Not an Igbo one. Lets see an Igbo speaking movie industry take off? You won't do it because you people don't respect your language. That's just a fact

Films projecting igbo culture still dominates in that list. Why not lets get practical. This is the most popular male yoruba actor who carved a niche playing igbo roles because the industry is igbo dominated.
