Rita had given me some of her clothes, told me I could wear any of her shoes that fits, and oh I forgot to add that I was a good stylist. I made Rita's hair, a friend of her's also had her hair styled by me that Sunday after church service and I was paid for the services rendered. Baby am actually wandering why u have to apologize abinitio before beginning the right about any grammatical error,I must confess you are a good writer and am already in love with the way you write.pls can you...?
Hopefully that Monday I didn't attend classes, the only one I was supposed to attend was cancelled and reschedule for another day of that week by the course lecturer. As soon as everyone had waited for the lecturer for thirty minutes, the class rep passed the information, the whole class dispersed, went to their various destination while I headed straight to a nearby beauty salon.
Tuesday was here, I was in class, sitting on the first row as usual, fluttering my eye lashes and waiting for someone...
I knew I was really looking beautiful on this particular day. My hair, clothes and shoes given to me by Rita looked nice on me.
That Tuesday, before I went for classes, I looked into the mirror, smiled when I saw my reflection and marvelled at how beautiful I was.
It was fifteen minutes into the class and i was still looking over my shoulders expecting to see Andy. The first class ended and we had another class that afternoon but Andy never came.
I wanted Andy to see me that day, I wanted his compliments, I wanted him to stare at me while we received lectures, I sincerely wanted to put him in a confused state, I wouldn't deny that fact but Andy never showed up and I was very disappointed.
That week was gone, the following week arrived and finally Andy was in class. This time, I made sure we exchanged mobile phone numbers. I got compliments on my looks from him but of course I wasn't flattered, I already had enough from admirers so his mattered less to me.
Weeks ran fast, months faster while I was busy attending lectures, fellowships and rehearsals with Rita(she made sure I did even if 85% of the time I wasn't willing to go but I made sure she didn't notice). I later realised Rita didn't like cooking so I would cook, clean and make everything and everywhere in the apartment tidy. Rita made me her personal hair stylist, introduced me to few of her friends who wanted a stylist as well. Everything was going on smoothly for me, I was making cool cash from Rita and her friends and the only reason I called home was to know how my family was faring. My parents never bothered to ask how I was coping but I cared less.
The First semester of my first year in the university came to an end and I was the happiest person on earth........

Surviving in the University as a girl is really hard. Especially when you don't have much support from parents.

If it wasn't for the fear of God and moral upbringing, I don't even know what I would be now.

Mine was bad, I even had to ask my mum why she gave birth to me when she knew she wouldn't be able to take care of me. But I survived sha.

hehehehe..I remember my university days o..then it was like I was being bribed to read well and graduate with honours.Before I say.."I need money.."I have gotten alert.Even up until law school..I didn't lack that much.Though it wasn't so much o,but I planned around my small allowance and survived on it.At a point,I started human hair business for extra income in 2012.Na now I dey know wetin life dey talk well..Because nobody gives me shishi in my family anymore.Them just dey call me big names to decieve me,so that I go dey remember say I don old.In all,every parent should pay attention to the needs of their female children in universities..Cos e no easy.Even those from wealthy homes are tempted to do runs to live extravagant lives,let alone someone who finds it hard to eat.

I had resumed fully for the second semester. I brought, from home, a small sack of garri, four tubers of yam, a bunch of unripe plantain and some vegetables. I told my parents they weren't necessary but they insisted I went with the food items and i was grateful. I also brought along my luggage, how I had missed my clothes, shoes, and other accessories. Indeed there was nothing like your own.
Rita on the other hand did not go for holiday, this semester was different, many students were working harder academically to improve on their grades. My results were out, and there were no carry-over courses and i was grateful to God. During the second semester I was very dedicated to God, became a worker in church and joined the prayer and the publication unit. I was also introduced to all night reading by some course mates, we did brainstorming of some occasions. I was helping some of my lazy course mates to write assignments, and when I realised the demands were getting too high, I demanded for payments, and everything was working out well for my good until one day..
I was seated on the balcony of Rita's apartment which was upstairs, I was enjoying the view below when Rita came to me and said..
"Babe how far"
"cool " I replied.
Then she continued " you know, since we are practically living like roommates, I was wondering if it would be a nice idea for us to continue that way"
"Okay... " I said
I knew where she was headed to but I played dumb, I was thinking until I realised Rita was still talking.
" What I mean is, after this semester, we will be paying equality for this place and the rent is N180,000 naira"
"Ehn! " I almost shouted. " wow I didn't know it was that expensive I said smiling at her and expecting the next
But Rita meant business, there was no smile on her face, even her glowing eyes were dim and she appeared very serious, I saw that too and I became serious, my eyes were pacing and my body was tensed.
So my share was N90,000 we concluded. Utility bills was N4,000 making a total of N94,000. "How did she think I was going to remit that kind of money when I don't even have close to N5,000 in my account" I said to myself after she left.
I had been living from hand to mouth. The money I was getting from making student's hair, writing of assignments were used to satisfy my immediate needs.
I had faith that something positive would come up, After all we were only into the middle of the second semester and i felt I still have a lot of time to plan, save alot and provide my share for payment of the rent.
I went to bed that night, thinking hard, fantasising, hoping and praying. The rest of my nights were similar to this particular night and I realised how much I had lost weight by the end of the semester just by thinking.......

Some runs girls are not daft bro. Many of them are smart and many dumb, just as you'd find in non runs girls.

By the way, how many girls went through University and did not sleep with one dude or the other for one or two reasons(mostly things she'd gain from him)

Even your babe dey runs you for ice cream, recharge cards, food, cloth, human hair etc etc.

Lucky you.
Most parents thinks that training a child in school ends in paying school fees and house rent.Feeding, transportation and other miscellaneous expenses is not important. Complain, you will be tagged extravagant.
It takes God's grace to graduate why still on the right track, morally.
