Biafra:why Can't The Military Opt For Tear Gas Instead Of Lead Bullet E.t.c by Herald47(op): 5:46pm On Dec 03, 2015
Yesterday, there was a great turmoil in the city of onitsha as a result of massive protest by ipob members in order to herald the immediate release of NNAMDI KALU(the director of radio biafra).some many events unfolded during the protest, there were heavy traffic, disorderliness, noise, stampede and shootings by the military and other security operatives.it was gathered that lot of people lots their lives as a result of the sporadic shooting by the military and other security operatives, according to an eye witness,he said more than 9 people were killed in the event as against the 9 reported by newspapers,it was learnt that the non-stop shooting by the military and security operatives triggered some of the protester to start throwing dangerous objects at the military and other security operatives in which some of them were injured and 2 policemen killed, lots of shops were looted, trucks burnt, the onitsha central mosque was partly burnt also, the event that unfolded in the city yesterday was a case of 'SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST'.the lives that were lost yesterday can never,i repeat it can never be regained, the manner at which the military and other security operatives displayed their shouting skills was alarming and they were shooting at the crowds as if life there life has a duplicate.the event got me asking myself, what happened to tear gas, rubber bullets and koboko, because i know in a sane society, the above instruments are used as a medium to disperse crowd, during the pandemonium in egypt and libya some years back,we all saw how their military and other security operatives dispersed the overwhelming crowd by using tear gas and rubber bullets at them, within a twinkling of an eye, they all fled, but in the case of onitsha, the military and other security operatives decided to use lead and cartridge bullets at unarmed civilians protesting,i thinks it's disapproving and informal, every right thinking nigerian knows am saying the utmost truth.although some of the protesters burnt trucks, shops, mosque and also killed some policemen when it was no longer at ease, one thing is certain;LIFE IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN SILVER AND GOLD,THAN TRUCKS AND EVEN THE MOSQUE THAT WAS PARTLY BURNT,A SINGLE LIFE IS BETTER THAN THEM ALL,although am not in support of the uncultured behaviour of the protesters who went burning shops, mosque and trucks.
what pains me most was that some of the people that were not part of the protest got hit by stray bullet.
It's high time the military and security operatives start carrying out their duties with sanity.
Twenty drops of tear gas in different locations in the city of onitsha is capable of dispersing everyone in that city and thus making them uncomfortable to stay, how much more the head bridge alone.
With the rate at which the protesters protested yesterday,i don't think using lead and cartridge bullets at them will calm them down.
If the military and other security operatives are sane, they would have opted for tear gases instead.thanks

The reason that the Nigerian security would leave rubber bullets, teargas, water spray and other non life threatening methods is because Nigeria is not a civilised country. That's why the only method of crowd control the Nigerian police and Army know is to shoot unarmed protesters with live ammunition

I am not sure it is completely senseless. yes it may make less sense to you but it does make sense to the protesters. you have right to disagree with any body anyway but it is rude dismissing their views

in as much as I don't I regret the loss of human lives which becomes inevitable, I believe hooliganism should be confronted with severe punishment, the army has excercise much patience ,not until they resolve to violence did they deal with them. I'm yet to ear any jobless goat on the street. BTW I'm yet see all those useless update on this forum. When you say they should use tear gas, why should we pollute the environment and make innocent people suffer the stupidity of few people.

They use what govt provided for them. FG provided guns and bullets. They did not provide tear gas.

Nigeria is actually a zoo as some have termed it......

Where on earth do you shoot at unarmed protestershuh

A certain marginalized tribe in Japan blocked/occupied the major road in the Japanese capital for weeks prior to their election.
The government never ordered the soldiers to invade their site in the dead of midnight and shoot them dead like what transpired in bridge head onitsha

The government should be held responsible for the crisis that erupted in Onitsha

Compare the two pictures and tell me why this country is not a typical zoo like some said
