Foreign investors choose the SW because of the peaceful nature of the states They know the North fuelled by religion hate foreigners ALso all the foreign investment in the East and South left due to kidapping and militancy Check the US travel warnings to Nigeria and see the states they list as travel risks. Below are examples of travel warnings to Nigeria issued by Canada The security situation in the Niger Delta region is fragile and unstable, particularly in the states of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Abia, Anambra, Rivers (with the exception of Rivers state capital Port Harcourt where we advise against non-essential travel). Regional and ethnic conflicts between militant groups occur in the area, and have led to unrest and violence in the past. Militant activity has also been directed towards foreign interests. Armed groups have carried out successful attacks on oil facilities and workers, resulting in injuries and deaths. Incidents of armed robbery have also increased. Kidnapping occurs in the Niger Delta StatesBelow is another example from the US. Note how the SE and SS states are all there The State Department of the United States has warned U.S. citizens not to travel to Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto and Zamfara. |

Below is an example of travel warning issued http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/mac_03012012.html The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Nigeria, and continues to recommend that U.S. citizens avoid all but essential travel to the Niger Delta states of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers; the Southeastern states of Abia, Edo, Imo; the city of Jos in Plateau State, Bauchi and Borno States in the northeast; and the Gulf of Guinea because of the risks of kidnapping, robbery, and other armed attacks in these areas. Violent crime committed by individuals and gangs, as well as by persons wearing police and military uniforms, remains a problem throughout the country |

lyricalz:A country with Hausas producing food, minerals and raw materials from her resources while the Yorubas use their natural and technical resources to process and export our and their agricultural products at this period when the value of oil is sinking fast, is a timely marriage made in heaven. |

raumdeuter:Actually there are many foreign investors in the North (checkout Chinese owned Oasis Supermarkets and Bakeries in some Northern cities, French Cafe in Kaduna, and literally thousands of Lebanese businessmen in Kano). The religious uprisings before BH were relatively few and far between and were mostly exaggerated (with due respect to lives lost). The BH menace has also been mainly in the NE (3 out of 19 northern states) which has clearly and evidently suffered from the cancer. |

What was the price of oil in 2013 and today? Are Americans still importing oil from you like they used to, or have discovered shale oil which they're now producing? Is the world moving away from fossil fuels or towards it? Wake up and smell the coffee....your awa oyel days are gone forever . M4gunners: |

raumdeuter:. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nigeria Travel Warning (July 27, 2015)I repeat, the only reason Lagos gets foreign and local investment is due to its strategic market positioning in Nigeria. |

raumdeuter:Is that so explain to us why your yoloba leaders forced the foreign oil companies to move their headquarters wey back in the day before militants occurred? Also explain to us why when NLNG planned to move their headquarters from Lagos back to port Harcourt, your leaders, especially your obj brother, deliberately frustrated them and made sure they put in Lagos until GEJ changed the frustration put on them by your leader. Also explain to us why your brothers they recently made MD is current trying yo find ways to move that headquarters back to Lagos despite they currently just moved down to PH. We all curious to understand this "theory" of foreign choose to invest in Lagos because of it's "peaceful" Oh while I'm at it, in case you are not aware. It had been statistically proven your so called "peaceful" Southwest has the highest kidnappings in the entire country BTW. |

Sweetguy25:Well I feel for the northern masses who are not helping matters with their religious fanaticism. Your non-acknowledgement of severe poverty, particularly in the SS where you guys drink from the same rivers you shitt in due to lack of toilets, doesn't change the reality. The fact still remains that the northern elite make up the band of wealthiest Nigerians in the country and in the world, and it will remain so in the long run. |

QuotaSystem:I acknowledged in my first commentary that the people of the Niger Delta hosts some of the poorest people in Africa. This is because the country and their region has been severly raped by northern military men and their friends. The fact still remains that the northern elite make up the band of wealthiest Nigerians in the country and in the world, and it will remain so in the long run. This is a pure fallacy, there's nothing factual about your statement. |

Sweetguy25:2 of the only 5 Nigerians in the Forbes list are northerners (Dangote, Abdulsamad). The majority of past Nigerian leaders and public officials are northerners. For more details on northern wealth, https://www.nairaland.com/413863/nigerias-top-50-richest-billionaires You have believed the propaganda about the North for too long. Would you believe it if you were told the North was the hub of luxury super cars in Nigeria? Show me any region that can compare. https://www.nairaland.com/1837344/beasts-northern-nigeria-more-pix Our challenge has always been in the distribution of wealth due to our population and the religious fundamentalism of the masses, and not acquisition. Equitable distribution of wealth however, has eluded all of mankind generally, since the rise of capitalism. The fact still remains that the northern elite make up the band of wealthiest Nigerians in the country and in the world (despite the overall human development indices for aforementioned reasons), and it will remain so in the long run. |

QuotaSystem:How i wish as you type this, the state governors are no more gathering in Abuja every month end to share the same oil money, i would've been happy hearing this. But as me and you know it,you can't do without it, if you doubt it as your baba at the top. |

QuotaSystem:To add to your comment, the US is even trying to cripple the fundings of ISIS which is majorly from Oil in Syria. They control 40% of the Oil wells in Syria so that's their major source of funding. So that why the price of oil will continue to dwindle. |

Noneroone:It has been refuted at that time, it was a pdp propaganda to cause confusion in Lagos between Yoruba and igbo. Now ask yourself, that much buses burnt by APC and chisco owner will keep mum without pressing for compensation since February?! Actually, the pictures littering the internet were that of the inferno that occurred few years ago and wasn't cause by APC or Yoruba touts. Now, in order to justify your barbaric act of setting Dangote's trucks on fire in onitsha you came up with this dead and buried lies again and again. |

It's free and easy money that no-one works for. What do you expect? With the sinking value of oil that has resulted in their inability to pay salaries, they still go instead of searching within, because it's free money. The sinking value is also why this governments focus is on agriculture and solid mineral development as new sources of our national income, before oil is practically worthless. Even Dubai realizes the facts and are quickly converting their oil wealth into tourism wealth before it loses all value, while some southerners are still busy sitting on their hands abusing the agriculturally endowed unexploited North . QuotaSystem:Still doesn't prove anything. Showing me images of expensive cars in Abuja without details of who owns them is nonsense. Giving me an incorrect list of rich Nigerians proves nothing either. Give me a list of the twenty or 30 richest northerners you know. |

arresa:Yes I agree with you but the question we need to ask our self's is what made other regions unsafe for foreign investment? I believe that if they had been treated fairly and inclusively their won't be any agitation |

QuotaSystem:So what is the need of this argument when you know they are still collecting the same oil money? Until i am prove beyond imagination, Nigeria can not i repeat can not do without ND full stop. |
