While Apple seems to have attracted love in the U.S., Sony has been moving into a downward spool, majorly because of its Xperia mobile business that continues to put itself in loss.

Xperia smartphones are decent; they have got incredible specifications and features. In fact, Sony pioneered water-resistance gimmicks; recently it launched the world's first 4k smartphone which happens to be the Xperia Z5 Premium that has failed to get a breath in the U.S.

In July 2015, the company posted its worse quarter result in three years; the major cause was its damning Xperia Mobile business, now the life-wire of Sony lies on the success of the PS4.

Sony keeps pushing out great products but no one gives a hoot, people don’t even notice!

Could it be their generic marketing having a field day on their products? Gamers in the last generation could remember how Sony almost shot itself with its marketing of the PS3. It took the effort of Kelvin Butler who started the “it only does everything campaign” to get the gaming device out of its shell.

Sony needs to re-evaluate its marketing strategy and stop creating smartphones with alien features that less that 1% of smartphone users care about.

It would be dis-heartening to see the likes of less powerful Samsung phones selling like hot-cakes while Xperia smartphones keep collecting dust in store-shelves.

They don't have huge market in Africa, Sony is a top brand in Europe and some Asian countries. Honestly they don't give a fucck about Nigeria market.

Spec wise and function wise I totally support Sony. Their support for upgrades are very good too. I use a Sony Xperia Z2 and never have to complain about its function. I give praise for its Video Recording, Stereo Speakers, and Display. The downside is this phone has been dropped 4 times below 4 feet and each time i had to replace the Touch digitizer glass not screen. Its not solid or sturdy, and the screen type that doesn't work once it's cracked is another big issue. It in my wardrobe now cos i'm tired of a broken or cracked digitizer. Performance wise it beats all other android phones out there. Where Sony fails is marketing and endurance of its products asides that, its flawless.

I have friends that use the almighty samsung and there phones can't even stand my old Xperia battery wise, function wise, durability wise, in short, the list is countless.
My advice is if you buying a Sony Xperia phone, pls, buy it new.

I know what i'm saying, there's nothing like "wrong" type of Xperia and I've stated how good the phone is performance wise my only problem is the digitizer the touch glass. Someone else on this thread also has experienced the same twice. And I bought my sony Xperia z2 new in Hong Kong a month after release. The issue is with durability. Once that glass cracks, the beast becomes useless till you repair it.

Ha ha, I replaced my screen twice. The second time being just a little crack and screen became unresponsive. First time it costs over 18k to get original screen. Second time it cost 10k to get a china screen. I've since dumped the phone . this is why I respect Samsung. Team galaxy s6.

Sony sells 7 million smartphones in 3-months. Apple sells more that in 3-days when a new iPhone is released. That you own an Xperia phone doesn't mean everything is alright with Sony. It would interest you to know that Sony didn't make a single profit from its Xperia business in the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Yes, that someone owns xperia phone doesn't mean everything is alright with them, but they do sell especially in Asia. U can't compare any phone sales with Apple, not even Samsung. U know why?

Because apple makes their software and their phones. They don't license their software to anybody, they make their phones, make the software and sell their phones. So they make all the profit. Android on the other hand is made by Google but they license it to everybody. So Samsung, HTC ,LG, tecno, Sony, infinix, xiaomi, etc all share the same OS, hence they share the sales. Just imagine if Google decide not to release their software. If they had decided to make their phones and sell only nexus devices, I can assure u it will sell more than iPhones because their are far more android users than ios.
