I read this piece but I don't understand why Nigerians are lamenting on the thread.

Can someone please tell me what's going on?

Is the problem about un-due process, or the fact that arms weren't purchased? I don't understand.
All of the above

negativity or not, AIT only said the truth...... Where is the country heading to when v your so called APC governors say they can no longer c pay minimum wage.
I think that's because of the fallen crude oil price. Crude oil price averaged $105/barrel in 5 years of Jonathan's rule. By January this year Iweala told us Nigeria was already borrowing to pay salary. That's after 5 years of oil windfall, the highest ever. Jonathan government reduced our reserves drastically. In comparison, an oil Exporting nation like Norway built their reserves such that they became one of the strongest country in the world financially. Noway lend to super power nations while we borrowed, under same oil windfall.

Now you want to blame the current administration for struggling to pay salaries with oil at $43. We should try to be objective.

If the government destroyed the operations of the National Security of the country it would be too sad.

If Dasuki misused these funds and they are able to prove them in the court he should be sentenced accordingly. But if they think using the media to sensationally revealed operations of the National security apparatus then it's too bad.

Are they saying the current National Security Adviser has not been receiving money to run his office? Are they saying they did not receive money to manage the recently inconclusive elections in Kogi and Bayelsa?

Common Mr Buhari? Attacking the operations of government security just to get a single man is very petty. What if he plays dirty and reveals all the security operations in the court in order to save himself?

There should be a limit to what the government can destroy. They should put caution in these things, otherwise the security operations of our country will be seriously compromised.
WILL YOU GET OUTTA DIS THREAD BEFORE I SLAP YOUR FATHER FOR WASTING HIS TIME RUNNING AFTER YOUR MOMMA JUST TO INFUSE HER WITH LOW "QUALITY" SPERM... EWU!!!!

God bless you for speaking my mind. we are hearing these because another party took over. Apc should tell us how they sponsored their own campaign. OBJ diverted billions of dollars meant for electricity no body is talking. He even shared Ghana must go bag of money to senators. I am not supporting corruption, what am saying is that all the politicians (Apc/PDP) are corrupt. And have looted our treasury. If OBJ die tomorrow, you will start hearing his own loot, but now he is alive, he remains a saint. Mtcheeeew.
hold your peace, the good precedence we are having now is that the next Government will also look into the books of this current administration which will be in the interest of Nigeria. pdp should brace up and win the lagos guber in 2019 so they too can expose all the years the ruling party has ruled lagos, but can pdp take up the challenge?

change must begin from somewhere, I challenge the pdp to brace up and keep apc on their toes

If you are engaging your critical thinking skills, you would have seen that the only script being acted out here by Buhari and APC is the use of these so-called probe on the past administration as a red herring to divert the attention of Nigerians from the performance that we demand from this otherwise comatose government.

It is given that Nigerian politicians have been corrupt since 1960. The germaine question then should be whether some of the plethora of sins purportedly committed by Jonathan administration were procedural practices or that the key actors in it went out of their ways to perpetrate malfeasance.

I am not against probity and accountability but the way and manner Buhari and APC are going about these issues hardly bodes well for the future of Nigeria as an indivisible corporate entity.

What Buhari and APC appear to forget is that government is a continuum.
Today they are riding on the high horse as the government in power. In the near future, the transient nature of power will ensure that they would be operating from the other side.

I daresay that one of the biggest challenges of an average blackman is the ability to manage success. Buhari has allowed his success at the presidential elections to becloud his sense of propriety and fairness even when the occasion demanded magnanimity in victory.

The only losers I can from Buhari's ineptitude and misadventure are the growth of democracy in Nigeria and indeed the social and political harmony in the Nigeria of the nearest future.

you're only defending the present administration of APC probably because you support them. But am very sure if it were to be Gej era this calamity befall Nigerians, you all will still blame him. Also, all politicians are corrupt and stole money in one way or the other including pmb(amaechi n tinubu stole vigorously to fund buhari election). So we are the gullible once, you n me. Remember ibb openly threatened buhari that he has records of misappropriation of funds under his watch as president and minister.

So this Dopkesi got such an enormous amount of stolen cash and yet staff of AIT and Ray power were protesting non payment of salaries.

Nigerians should wait patiently, God's wrath will soon be unleashed on these criminals, how much can they even spend in their life time. Some countries don't even have half of what these people steal and yet they are flourishing.

all I have to say to you is that, let's wait until dasuki is proven guilty when he is not able to account for all the monies placed in his care which I support his prosecution by the law court and if he proves himself not guilty, it's not a crime to run that office of nsa with such monies.

Exactly but I'm beginning to think many Nigerians are somewhat dumb.

I read the entire thread and vastly every comment is filled with lamentations. No one is asking any question as to what and how the money was spent.

Because the headline reads $47m, some people just felt the money was eaten in a raw state by Jonathan.

We actually have more s!lly people on this forum.
You are the dumb one Sir!
Since when did our national currency changed to the dollar?

What ever happened to transferring money directly to the account of the ONSA? (They obviously tried to circumvent the obvious electronic trail it would have left)

Why didn't CBN list the alleged funds in their yearly report? (They obviously hid it under the intervention heading and foolishly projected PDP was going to be returned unopposed)

Why don't you tell us how they are supposed to provide accountability on transactions restricted to cash exchanges?

Why did SA seize the 15 million dollars, wasn't it because it was an illegal transaction?

Can you now see how dumb and foolish you truly are

News like this do I take with a pinch of salt because I know at the end of the day, they will all go scot free. And for those crying "thank God we have booted GEJ out and all that"-don't worry, you never can tell all the underground corruption going on in the shadows. You'll only hear about it when GMB is no longer president. My take!

I just weak even Okonjo-Iweala with her highfalutin speeches and swagger was caught in this web of misappropriation.

What if this money had been directed at building new refineries, new power plant or transmission network expansion, east-west railway, or new apartments to be sold at cost to Nigerians?

They know the recipients of the information are very shallow minded. Some of can barely read. Some who can manage to read don't read more than the headline while the few who can read just manipulate the information to justify their nonsense.

Those who gave out the information know what they are doing.

My biggest issue with Buhari is that he lacks the basic dexterity and skill to superintend over a sensitive and complex country like Nigeria.

What nonsense are you talking about taking suspects to court?

Haven't Buhari's administration gained infamy on the flagrant/blatant disregard of court orders and pronouncements?

Tell me that you can look me straight in the eyes and conclude that what are shaping up as incipient beginnings of a dictatorship have any semblance to the justice, equity and the rule of law which are the underpinnings of democracy.

What do you call a situation where the likes of Fashola, Amaechi, Fayemi and other APC privileged men are enjoying plum jobs as ministers when their colleague/contemporaries in the other side of the divide are being harassed with the machineries of the state?

Maybe you may need to give us a tutorial on the Buhari justice...
