I personally love to research, Infact it one of the things I do with my leisure time but I want to believe using "short Knickers" is tortology.

English is a crazy language though, I gave up on it the day it was formerly approved that the word "change" is wrong rather "balance"should be used, maybe we should encourage the introduction of "pidgin" as subject in schools cos it seems it hard to get it right the British way, what do you think?

It would have been "Nigerian tautology" if he had said Shorts Knickers (pay attention to the S in Short"s" but he said, Short Knickers with no S in the Short.

On the issue of Change and Balance, most of those confusions are made up in Nigeria. I still hear people say Change even in US. Change is used especially when it is coins rather than paper bills. Since there are hardly coins in Nigeria, people can argue that saying Change is wrong but the fact remains that whether Change or Balance of money, both are correct.
