Hmmm! I have and will continue to tell people on how to handle police cops. They are animals in human form. Once u have issues wit dem just be calm and ask questions in dmost polite manners so dat they don't inflicts bodily harms on u. We have heard cases like DAT on many occasions and swept under the carpet. They will always protect the images of their colleagues even the supposed I.G. may God continue to protect us from the hands of dis armed animals. It is high time we understand our lawless country.

How about you be the 1st to stand out and watch the rest of us follow you, you are a Nigerian, so am i and a lot of others here, the same thing happened to me about a month back, watching man united match close to my house around past 10, i came out to get airtime and only stopped to check out the scores, the police guys with their vans came, bundled close to 12 guys but were almost many with 3 vans, and hitting people with the but of their guns and even sprayed me and another guy tear gas directly into our eyes when we tried to stand and ask what we did, in the end the following we all had to pay 10k each to get released while "bail is free" was written at the entrance, some people got badly injured, some guys broke down and cried, it was funny, scary, annoying but we seriously need to get up and stand up to these guys, our country is too corrupt and the police is so bad, a lot of people come online and just insult them and say all sort, that's nonsense, it doesn't affect them in one bit, if you and i and we the youth really want change, we stand up and fight for it. Nairaland is a platform, let's use it, enough comming online to talk and talk and do more talk, talk doesn't change things, actions does.

My advice is when he is released from the hospital, take the police to court and win this case. This isn't fair. They kill and go free. Police brutality has to end. If they see robbers can they stand? That is how they brutalized a friend and stole items from his car packed at the police station can u beat that? When he was eventually released, he was begged by the police not to go to court. They are afraid of court but take delight in brutality. God is watching

Even the educated amongst them are same with the illietrates when money comes to play. Their dpos gives them target to submit certain amount and they go all out to kill becos civillians are powerless. I sincerely suggest that when it happens like this or they kill, they should amputate their right hand before sending them to 20year inprisonment, dismissal follows, then others will choose the option to take before commiting evil.

I had a milder experience too. Police brutality particularly on young men these days have hit the peak!
Is there no way out?
I was arrested alongside two of my colleagues on our way to work when these wicked police officers intercepted our vehicle and took us to the station accusing us of being yahoo boys.
They detained us for 24 hrs accusing us of being yahoo boys and seizing our smart phones thereby preventing us from reaching out to anyone for help before releasing us, having collected #10,000 the next day, sunday morning.
(they even offered to escort one of us to the ATM with our debit cards!)
This has to stop. I'll appreciate some enlightenment on the next course of action the next time a thing like this repeats itself. I see young men being brutalised everyday by police (and it's not even a case of dressing or appearance!)
As an unemployed graduate, because of the brutality and recklessness of the force I can never be interested in even working for or with them. (Tufiakwa)
