Islam has never been the problem rather its interpretation is the real culprit! It happens in Christianity too, so many denominations and each with its own doctrine. My viewpoint is this; there are hidden forces trying to destroy the religion in order to create chaos and the Islamic communities have been sleeping for far too long. For example let's look at Iraq: When Saddam was there the nation was united, rebels were crushed and the neighboring countries behaved themselves especially Iran. Saddam was eliminated and chaos broke loose! Now Iraq is a war zone, Afghanistan & Syria are catalysts for terrorism and the entire Middle-East is waiting to explode. The same thing can be said of Nigeria, when the military was in charge, Nigerian lives were much safer. Robberies were limited, rebels were crushed and religious conflicts were at the bear minimum. Fast forward to democracy and we have so many rebel groups out there from MEND to Boko Haram, when will the madness stop? When?

Daninya11:
Shia is about the oldest sect in Islam. After the death of Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was both a messenger of Allah and a political leader, the Islamic faith continued to grow under the rightly guided Caliphs. It was during this period that the present day Syria, Iran, Iraq, Egypt and Palestine came under the control of Islam. However, the Jews who were expelled from the city of Madina by the Holy prophet because of their treachery and were watching these developments with agony decided to react by sponsoring some of them to pronounce Islam in order to have the license to cause confusion among Muslims. It was these ‘converts’ under the leadership of one Abdullah bn Saba that succeeded in sponsoring the rebellion against the third Caliph, Othman. They first articulated his shortcomings, amplified and disseminated them around the Caliphate. Thereafter they called for his resignation; when he refused to resign they killed him. The Muslim Ummah chose Ali, a cousin of the Holy Prophet to lead them after Othman, but these very people, who now called themselves Shiat Ali (the sect of Ali) frustrated his efforts to track and punish the killers of Othman. They now made Shia a symbol of love for Ali and other relations of the prophet and hatred for the other caliphs and the rest of the prophet’s companions whom they claimed betrayed the trust of the prophet.

Something is fundamentally wrong with some followers of Islam. What ever misunderstanding these 'converts' had should have been settled and buried long ago. What does this sect really want? It's own Caliphate? Then they should make their grievance known to the UN and not taking it out on innocence people.

With this sort of movement, and other dreaded movements across the globe bearing Islam, am always inclined to ask: Is Islam really a religion of peace? Until Islam as a religion rises against these movements in entirety and show to the world that these movements are not Islam, it's only then I would accept Islam as a religion of Peace.

This is serious

Lalasticlala let them know what shia/shiite is up to biko
. Gambari pa Fulani, Sunni pa Shite. As our Lord and Messiah Jesus Christ said, A house divided against itself cannot stand. Now the confusion of their so called religion of peace is exposed. Thank God. One group of Muslims against another group of Muslims. See the pot calling the kettle black. The founder of Islam was not called a Muslim before the First Hejira. The Christians called him a heretic, because of his heresy against Christianity then. So we have a group of heretics calling others heretics. When I said no intelligent person will be a Muslim, Muslims get angry. But we can see that they are their own worst enemies, as Sunnis call Shites heretics, Shites call Sunnis heretics. Heretics x Heretics = Heretics. 1Heretic+1Heretic=2 Heretics.

Its a shame how the hunger and greed for power has affected religion.
Religion teaches to be law-abiding (@ least in most sections)
Unfortunately, politics has eaten deep and conflicted with religious theories leaving the whole world in a deeper melancholic state.
In semi-literate Africa, it is a viable tool for political division. God help us all.

If that Army chief had carried himself like tho ordinary Nigerian he was all this killings would be avoided. These days anybody with a little power wants to be treated as a King and bowed to.

Nonsense!

When will the Muslims stop blaming the Jews for every woe? Even the ones they brought upon themselves. Saddam blames the Jews for the fall of BABYLON and here this man is blaming them for their own rascality.

He claims the Jews helped form the sect but the other day we saw the same sect burning Israeli flag.

My observation is the the writer is a Sunni asking his Sunni brother to cut their perceived rival to size.

You're senseless.

Imagine if someone had warned yaradua about boko haram in time. Imagine if GEJ had taken them seriously.

No one has any right to stop a convoy, especially a military convoy conveying the COAS himself. You expect the coas to tuck in his tail, turn around and leave, thus solidifying the impunity of the sect?

In the US, if you so much as approach an ordinary beat cop with a toy gun or a knife you'd get legally shot and killed. These criminals were brandishing deadly weapons to the coas and chanting war songs. The whole confrontation was aggressive and escalated by the shiites.

You don't have to comment if you've nothing worthwhile to say.

Very interesting read and shouldn't be overlooked . This was how boko haram started ! But am happy that this guy is saying the truth ," it's northern elites and learned that are causing all these unrest in the north,The uneducated poor are being used .but I can't still understand how daft all of them are cos they are killing , maiming and destroying their own people n land. But please carry on, with the number of kids they breed there ,it will take a thousand years for all of them to die before they move to other parts of nigeria .

At least Shia are not asking their followers to strap on bombs because of heavingly virgins like the ideology of this wahabbi prof.
