It's simply the world we live in. Several things happen in political circles worldwide. Even the system in many great countries are designed on making a select few richer at the expense of others. Nigerian policitians are just crude in their approach by being too obvious, making the rest of the world stare at us like that has never being one of their problems.
I don't know if Nigeria politicians have the fear of God

We'll like to know the two civil servants that stood surety. They must explain how they acquired N200m each and also how they got landed properties in like sum.

I'm with you on this.

One of my biggest mistake four years ago(2010) was to convince people to vote GEJ/SAMBO ticket in the presidential election even if our vote was infinitesimal compare to the vote of other Nigerians.
I think supporting GEJ/PDP is treasonable in character and felony in attitude.
Those who still supports PDP (haven for corrupt men) are betraying this country.

I'm sorry Nigerians for having supported PDP.

Feeling very remorseful right now.

How can some persons who call themselves elder states men loot the money mearnt to fight insurgency and protects peoples life.
Anyone who does that and still sleeps have the heart of a snake and the conscience of a hyena.

I'm not saying APC is better.
They are all the same.

Na who dem see for under mangoe tree be thief.

I weep 4 my country
Better weep for urself, tell me one minister under GEJ that has been charged since PMB came on board, if they actually stole as u people think. Well my own is that I will compare buhari admin to GEJ admin. Cos we will now know who the real thief is.

How can a civil servant legitimately cough out N200m to pay as sum for bail?

I don't think you really have to cough out the money when it comes to surety oh.. You just have to prove you are capable of it should dopkesi run away

"Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court said Mr. Dokpesi should be granted bail on the condition that he provides two sureties with N200 million each."

Please, the money must be provided to the court. That's the whole meaning of bail na.

No sir, the money for bail must be paid to the court. It is the landed properties that must be shown to the court. Thanks

Barca are you sure?

Please do some research on this

The courts do not require the provision of physical cash.

Sureties only need to show that they have the capacity to pay the bail money if the accused violates bail conditions.

No sir

However, the Judge most probably put the bail at N200M intentionally. The civil servant that acted as a surety will likely face investigations. We just need to wait till the details are released. For instance, IBB could have done it and trust me, there is nothing EFCC can do

Humm.. In 2011 my dad stood as a surety for a banker who had a case in court. All he tendered was was a statement from his bank that the bank will give the 4million should the banker run away

Big Men in Nigeria always meet bail. They have a network of connections that transcend party or tribal affairs - unlike the ethnic bashers on NL. 400million is a small matter and a lot of stuff goes on behind the curtain.

Dokpesi may go to jail for a few years but he'll never be poor in this lifetime. Same goes for Ibori who is controlling a dynasty from prison. Dasuki's case is even better, he is a prince of the Caliphate. All this is just entertainment to keep the masses happy

Leave matter for mattheus. The question is - Who were the civil servants that stood for him?

What's 200million for someone of Dokpesi status?

Even my uncle wey be importer go cough out that money within 10 seconds... Abeg the money too small jaree.

As for the civil servant own, that one no be issue nah. Some are actually born into wealthy home and run sm profitable business yet they are still civil servants.

the 200m is in like-sum not real cash. It means that the two sureties have to enter into a bond of 200m each with federal govt. The bond will be forfieted only if Dokpesi runs away from prosecution.

Dokpesi and IBB are 5 and 6. I knew from the beginning that this case won't go far.

You can't send the elites to prison in this country...NEVER!!! even the judge knows that.
