Read your highlighted quote. How does a report translate to sack. Report was dated in Feb and March 2014, but the best your dullard president could do was to translate a report and memorandum to was a sack in 2015.....

If the circular dated April, a transition period and the incoming government doesn't see the need to visit and clear the rift, that means the present government want to sack them. Atleast, SANU also said they wrote to Buhari severally on the matter. Why didn't he mediate them and prevent an outburst...

It is a shame people don't read to understand before expressing misguided and misplaced opinions.

I'm very confident over 90% of those that made comments castigating Buhari have serious comprehension problems. They are the sort of person whose eyes glaze over instructions and then they go ahead and do contrariwise.

From the article it's been clear the directive to sack the embattled lecturers was given by the last administration. The reasons for that decision we don't know. But a new administration is on board and since government is a continuum, it very much behoves of the current administration to address the issues raised by the union body. It will be foolish for anyone to now blame GEJ over an issue to has been updated to the knowledge of the current administration. In summary, the ball is now in PMB's court.

The times are really hard, and people are already losing their jobs in an alarming rate. We can't afford to have another 2000 people joining that miserable job market. Losing one's job at this moment na die.....

In Nigeria we assume the head of state completely runs the country alone, mans every agency, does the accounts, makes all arrests, prosecutes all suspects, makes every single decision, signs every check, pays every worker, flies every plane, runs NEPA, manages all gas stations, flips every burger, and changes the bulb on each gaddam streetlight.

This idiocy accounts for precisely the reason 2000 teachers are getting sacked: they failed at teaching, rasing a generation of blockheads, a greater portion of whom unfortunately crawl all over nairaland.

If the teachers are sacked, does that mean the schools will be closed down? I think the schools will still be in operation, but FG will no longer be responsible for the funding of such schools. Corruption takes place in almost every organisation in Nigeria, University administrators should give account of the schools fees by parents in the last 10 years.

The primary and secondary schools of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria in Lagos are funded by the staff union cooperative society, and these schools are self-sustaining and highly profitable.

Why did they establish schools which they never planned to fund or invest in, as I have said they can learn from the staff schools of FAAN. The schools were established and funded by the staff union and their cooperative society. These schools are now very profitable, and if care is not take the supervising ministry may want to hijack the schools from the staff union.

A lot of u guys don't understand dis message. Everyone's talking about sack but d FG didn't sack anyone, but simply took their names off the FG payroll.

The so called 2000 sacked staffs were not employees of the FG but were employed by d institutions but it's d FG dat has bn paying their salaries which shudnt be.

There's already an agreement that d institutions shud take up d responsibility of paying d salaries of these employees from their internally generated revenue.

If the FG decides to take them off their payroll, dey actually made d right decision. It simply means the workers r no longer under d FG but now under d institutions payroll.

So who is sacking who?
Whether it is GEJ or PMB's administration, the decision is a right one take out sentiment.
