How did you try to install? If you are prompted to install .Net Framework 3.5, just make sure that you are connected to the internet.

It is very likely that the modem is faulty. Try binding it all over with a sticky tape or something similar to hold it tightly together.

Ok, when it comes to choosing an antivirus software, I pay more attention to resource usage. I would basically pick an antivirus software that uses less system resources.

I presume that you are getting a Windows-based system. The built-in Windows defender works very well for me. You can try that too. I make use of Malwarebytes Anti-malware also.

Whatever brand of antivirus software you use, just ensure that it is regularly updated, and that real-time protection is enabled. Also, manually scan your computer for viruses from time to time.

You need to know the maximum amount of RAM that your system supports. You need to also know how many RAM slots are available. Simply google the system specifications or visit the manufacturer's website directly to confirm.

Another thing to consider is the OS architecture. If the system is running 32-bit version of Windows, then it can use no more than 4GB of RAM. 64-bit versions of Windows can use much more (subject to the maximum supported by the system).

If you are installing two memory modules in two different RAM slots, they do not necessarily have to be of the same capacity. However, pay more attention to speed. If the speeds do not match, the system will run at the speed of the slower module.

It is advisable to go for a system with at least 4GB of RAM. Compare the cost of upgrading the RAM to at least 4GB with the cost of buying a system already having at least 4GB of RAM installed. This will help you make an informed decision.
