The board have been very classless in this matter. No single public message of support from them be it on or off the record. The sun would never have dared this hatchet job on Ferguson.

We find ourselves here partly cuz of sentiments! From Moyes to Phil Neville to Rooney to Giggs.
If Giggs want to be trusted as caretaker boss, my opinion is that he should be given the role early enough let's weigh his know-how & conclude if he'd ever be considered for the future or not.
These sentimental trial & errors should be done with this season IMO.

... & Rooney must not break record before his 'status' is noted, these sentiments will never put Man United on solid ground.

After two trophyless season, same Jose was contacted and he really wanted the job against the fans' wish. Barca then opted for an inexperienced Pep (a Barca legend) and gave him every necessary support (he even got rid of the best players). He won it all in his 1st season and he's now wanted by every club. When he left, his assistant, Tito was chosen to take over. After another poor season under Tata, Barca again turned to one of her products, Enrique (who was just gathering experience) to take over. He has also won everything and will surely become a 'hot cake' when he leaves. The club is now known for raising both players and coaches.
Man U is a world class and highly rated club, the best in epl and one of the greatest in the world. I think the club can also try the Barca way and put trust in her products who aleady know the in and out of the club rather than looking for a world class coach who will bring his own philosophy.

Barca made Pep the B coach, Man u can also do same to the selected few. I never said Gigs should be appointed, and I don think he's the only Man U product over the years. You and I know that Puyol, Xavi and co are still coming back to coach Barca.

Pep and TiTo outstanding performance with your Barca B team aside that was a risky move that paid off well.
As you yourself mentioned already, Enrique found success with celta vigo and managed Roma for awhile,who have very demanding fans that is suitable preparation for a big job.
Truth is we blew all our goodwill with the Moyes appointment and haven't even recovered and we're not so patient anymore.
My personal love for Jose aside Klopp was the kind of Manager the fans would've gotten behind.

You make this barca philosophy sound like wan religion that jose will soil by association.

I for one don't think man utd has any philosophy if Moyes won the league with his long ball style the management will be on their knees pleasuring the man right now.

I`ll prefer us taking that gamble on Giggs. He can`t be worst than Moyes and LVG. He knows the way we`ve played for so long (attacking football). He must have learnt some things from SAF over the years.
When Moyes was sacked, he was honest enough to say he wasn`t ready to take up the role of the manager of the team and that he still needs some other things to learn.
We also have Nicky Butt who has been the youth coach for like three years now. Nicky butt is also a Man Utd bred. Combination of the two isn`t going to be worst than what we have right now.

The only fear i had for Giggs before was how to handle transfers. Now i believe he should be experienced in that after paticipating in 2/3 tranfer windows.

This team only needs players being played in their proper position and buying/promoting more players to make the team large again to take care of injuries.

This slow build up possession is part of the problem of the team. Players need to move the ball quicker and faster than we do right now.

How is our youth team performing ? are they dominate the youth league or just treading water if the next manager is too Mirror Pep's rise.
Trust me Giggs handling the club now isn't good for anybody or else LVG will already get the axe.

I didn`t say Moyes said so but Giggs.

We don`t have the kind of youth set up as they have in Spain where a B team can also patticipate in the lower division. Pep only coached the B team for a year in the fourth division before being appointed the Manager of Barca. What kind of experience would he have gained there? If he wasn`t appointed the then, he would`ve still been the youth manager and wouldn`t have had the chance to prove what he can do.

Just like i said earlier, it is of my opinion that Giggs and Butt wouldn`t have been worst that Moyes and LVG if given the opportunity now.

Your opinion is deadly. Giggsy handled the team after Moyes left and there wasn't much difference. We shouldn't be too quick to thrust him into the spot. He needs some coaching experience first, not an assistant coaching one.

Where has LVG`s experience gotten us? I believe he should be ready now.
