SIRcumalot:Giggs deserves a chance.I look at him and his antics and i see someone protesting LVG's philosophy. Yes it may look like someone who wants the manager out at the detriment of the club. But i see someone who probably has had his advices n tactical input shunned for negative football. Giggs is one of us and he is the last person the fans will turn on if things aren't going our away. He already has been mentored enough to last 6 months on the job. There's Fergie to help him adapt, acting like a pseudocoach Behind the scenes. The last two coaches came with their philosophy and their philosophy negated anything united and i am sure baba would never have wanted his input in their style. First one drove out the back team, started implementing a style of football synonymous with his former club where they lob to Fellaini all day. The second one is two words 'overconfident' and 'arrogant'. That one cannot seek advice from anyone, the least fergie. Giggs would be like their son, listening from one of the clubs greatest managers, ex-players ,the Board and then his intuition. Would bring some of the hands that gave us those good years back, will inspire the young lads to understand what this club is about. Its time to stop shopping for big names. Atleast for this period that we may not have a better replacement once wax face gets the sack. For now a mourinho appointment is an insult on all the club stands for, will drive away more of the people who knew what this club is about .first of all Giggs, polarize the Board ,fans...we will become like the oil wells all over the league looking for quick success. He'll kill our youth system and start looking for big names like man city parade in the likes of mangala and otamendi to pay overboard for because the money is plenty. |

tess1:Forgive me for misinterpreting that giggs quote. Pep,for all the crap I say about is one of a kind, in his autobiography he already had Rijkaard job but he said he would wait a year to test his foot balling style in the lower league before handling the first team who does that ? Maybe better than Moyes, but not LVG. Giggs should leave utd for awhile gain some experience as long as he is in this assistant Manager role the next Coach go dey watch him back. His action in our last game won't make any manager comfortable at all. |

SIRcumalot:So you mean Giggs will be playing this docile and slow possession build up that is killing out attacking instinct? He`ll also be playing players out of positions! Will be benching important players and making regular wrong substitutions? I don`t think so. Giggs is a product of pure attacking football. Our team is now a victim of the counter-attacking football we do to other teams in the past. |

Mou is a wrong choice for us simply because his principle doesn't tally with United's... my picks once the United's job is vacant and Pep ain't available are; Ryan Giggs, Jorge sampaoli, Mauricio Pochettino or Laurent Blanc..... especially Jorge, love his passion plus his team plays high octane beautiful football.. |

tess1:sincerely, Giggs would av don better than as things are now. I remember he gave Lawrence and Wilson their United debut on his managerial debut, that alone shows boldness and faith in youth. |

MrLouisVanGaal:That his action showed me a guy who would not hesitate to stab pesin for back at least pretend the coaching staff is united. I think we'll turn on Giggs really quick we're plenty that have our doubt about the guy. Like I said earlier we already wasted all our patience on Moyes I like that fergie pseudo coach idea but I seriously think we need a clean break from that man if we are ever going to make something of ourselves in this new era. Over-confidence and arrogance are quality that I think every Manager should have and the ability to transfer that same quality to your team. If Moyes had this he would've lasted longer. Which was why I asked that question about lack of depth in coaching talent I personally don't see how Jose will ruin any brand but I also know many people are against his appointment. |

tess1:I don't want to start defending LVG. Since the wolfsburg UCL game we've not played the slow building up game we're know for (our average possession in all these games will suggest otherwise) and we've lost all those games. If giggs learned anything from SAF, na to win at any cost. Our team can only either defend or attack can't do both. |

SIRcumalot: That his action showed me a guy who would not hesitate to stab pesin for back at least pretend the coaching staff is united.Anyone that loves football and remembers the football we use to play will backstab LVG and i mean with a knife. That even giggs will backstab someone so he can come in tells me two things...hunger to manage United or anger at how the club is descending with hopeless managers. A protest to the board for someone better. I think we'll turn on Giggs really quick we're plenty that have our doubt about the guy.The only reason anybody will turn on a manager who is playing according to what we have been crying for is because he shagged his brother's wife even while she was 7 months pregnant. I like that fergie pseudo coach idea but I seriously think we need a clean break from that man if we are ever going to make something of ourselves in this new era.Seriously?? and become directionless like the Chelsea's and Man city's....so why has Charlton been hanging around? You don't get rid of the good wife just cause the other rude one dances samba on top of you. Over-confidence and arrogance are quality that I think every Manager should have and the ability to transfer that same quality to your team.I think Giggs would not suffer lack of confidence, just like any other manager we'll have after that flop. We will not appoint a mid-table manager again trust me. They come looking up from where they are on the table and even while they are with us, they are still looking up to teams like Man city and praying to play like them....Some people want pulis..Tufiakwa! I personally don't see how Jose will ruin any brand but I also know many people are against his appointment.Well you can't see that because he uses his trophies as cover. But the guy ruins things. Can only be useful if the other overrated one goes to Man city |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 7:06pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:That explains the outrageous formations, tactics and substitutions where Herrera and Schneiderlin sit on the bench and flops like Rooney come back from injury and jump in. LVG nor sabi..He is not even good at the slow build up play. I am glad you agree Giggs will want to go for the kill, you score 4, i score 6 or 7...atleast teams will know they will not have time to settle before united come on the counter. These days when we counter defenders can go eat, hang out and return to continue the match. Awful build up play. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 7:19pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:It`s still the same slow build-up play. Against Norwich, we had about 70% possession with about 150 backward passes. If there wasn`t slow build-up play, why couldn`t the team counter attack successfuly while Norwich did on regular basis? We had only 11 shots with 2 on target while Norwich had 6 with 4 on target. Why did he put Herrera on the bench when he knew he`ll still bring him on as a sub? Schneidelin was also on the bench with to protection for the back four and playing Fellaini and Carrick together when there are other options. He also moved Martial to the right when he`s supposed to be leading our attack. When is the guy going to get used to playing as our top striker? When is there going to be a good understanding between him playing as a striker and other players playing around him? Shuffling him now and then isn`t going to help him and the team. Was there no times when defended and attacked well during the same season under SAF? What about the period when Van Da Saar had the longest time of consecutive clean sheets? |

SIRcumalot:Are you seriously suggesting Man United appoint Mourinho? I've seen this suggestion from a couple of guys & can't wrap my muscles around it! Based on what, track record? experience? LvG has that as well. He's been worse than LvG so far playing same opponents in same league, so why does he get the pass & LvG doesn't? I don't get it - we are all looking @ the now now now; not I-get-am-before... Appointing Mourinho will simply confirm the board has lost all direction cuz it's not a long term plan @ all & they should all be sacked! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 7:39pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
I have been following the argument in ghost mode and I think everyone has contributed fairly enough to the subject matter. IMO I would rather prefer the appointment of Ryan Giggs as a direct replacement for LVG in case he's sacked (or he resigns) to the emergence of Jose Mourinho. Whoever envisage the campaign of Luis Enrique would be a success at Barcelona?! He's succeeding presently simply because he's a product of La Mesia, same goes to Pep Guardiola's reign at the Club. I was satisfied with Ryan Giggs "interim" Management of the Team after the sack of David Moyes! We've got a taste of what Class of 92 can achieve together. We need Giggs to take over from LVG and to be assisted by Paul Scholes and Co! The only way to preserve the legacy and philosophy of Man United and Sir Alex Ferguson respectively is to hand over the Team to the Class of 92 with Ryan Giggs as their Leader! They are Products of the Team, it's Legacies and Philosophy! |

MrLouisVanGaal:And that`s exactly why Leicester is at the top of the table, scored 37 goals and conceded 24 goal with "If you score me, i score more" football. They`ve only kept three clean sheets. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SIRcumalot: 7:54pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
tess1:We couldn't counter successfully because Norwich ceded control and gave us possession our lack of inventiveness in the final third killed us in all three games I think all the shuffling of the team is too accomodate rooney do you all think Giggs have the balls to bench rooney ? When I mentioned that we can't attack or defend I meant this team. We deluded ourselves into believing we had a strong defense when our conservative approach covered our lapses, in must win games when we actually go gung ho (at least as can be expected by these team) we leaked goals at the back. I really don't want to start defending LVG like I said earlier the man has is fault but maybe their is some method to the madness. |

SailorXY:Jose is my personal choice am not conceited enough to think my choice is acceptable by the red army. I suggest Klopp as somebody who everybody will get behind for the other page (you never show then). I don't think long term works anymore but that is just me. Moyes was our one chance at the long term game and we didn't even allow the ninja finish one season. Just humour me this how is appointing Jose going to ruin our brand ? He didn't ruin Chelsea their still chanting his name there. He certainly didn't ruin Intermilan,(benitez did) a strong case could be made that he saved Madrid. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SIRcumalot: 8:22pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
MrLouisVanGaal:I think Giggs just torpedoed his career as an assistant manager and LVG listened to advice from Jose maybe Giggs dey yarn spoil. And if that was a coup attempt he made his move too soon. Charlton never managed us and SAF handpicked Moyes so make of that what you will. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 8:41pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:Lvg listen to advice from jose? Confused. For the coup attempt there's pressure on the dude. People are talking to him too. I think Giggs is in a position where he wants to do somethings but contrary to what lvg wants..na the only way to react him dey react .The managers stubborness is affecting the whole team and it is reflected on Giggs who feel these guys pains. What does LVG know about how modern footballers feel when treated like kids, deprived of playing time? Charlton gave us history ,you don't throw away history and fergie's gaffe was a lesson never to be repeated, however we are learning a new one with vanagaal |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 8:55pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
tess1:Thank you ...We have the players to do this..but the coach is stifling them and killing the flare. Liverpool is trying it but they don't have the players that's why they are still languishing in mid table mediocrity but Leicester have quick motivated players and they are burning any team that comes near. There's no clean sheet trophy ..dem nor send anybody. |

SIRcumalot:Do you actually think Jose is the best Shot at the moment?! We all know how Mourinho works, he's a type of Managers that has no confidence in the Academy or its products! Mourinho will ruin everything, and it's far better we stick with LVG than replacing him with Jose! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by adebayo201: 9:05pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
adeyemi2015:If Mou is appointed, we don't have choice as its were but looking at his works in Chelsea, you've really said it all and he's even bad or let me say worse when it comes to handling players... Mou will rubbish you privately and publicly! He doesn't mind the outcome. That's why the current Chelsea team ain't playing for him as bfr... Not that the team is that good but look at the "elite" players in the club. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 9:16pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
Have we ever thought of the reasons why players are turning against Mourinho? It happened at Madrid and now Chelsea. The way he handled Eva issue is very immature to me. Choosing to blame a physio that went to attend to a player that`s down on the pitch. Blaming everybody when things weren`t going well with the team. One day he`ll just blame Ed for buying the wrong player for him. I don`t even like his personality. He shouldn`t come and cause disunity among the players. |

adebayo201:I am 70% convinced LVG has learned his lessons! I watched his last Press Conference and I was pitying him. I am expecting a new tactic against the Stoke City! He's determined to turn things around! He knows Fans are getting tired of his philosophy and Press wouldn't stop criticising his style of management! He doesn't want to lose the Dressing Room, thus he needs to devise a better tactic that will guarantee us "Victories" henceforth! I say "NO" to Jose Mourinho!!! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 9:36pm On Dec 24, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:Yes, our conservative play helped the defence but reasons we conceded more recently include injuries to the defenders and his continuous neglect of Morgan. He has seen the consequences for eg against Arsenal but keeps repeating it. I seriously detest his stubbornness. Instead of him to focus on improving the attack, he rather dismantled the standing defence. He believes in defending by ball possession, infact his football summary is possession which is one problem Pep also has. They both have similar philosophy though Pep perfected his. Possession is good if you've the right players and a very good attack. But a good coach should improvise and play in such a way to bring the best out his players. |
