All those neighbours/staff who are now saying that the policeman was notorious for acting under the influence of alcohol should begin mentioning the names of those they have reported him to.

Nigerians are used to complaining without taking action.

If those foolish youths have protested the stationing of an armed and always drunk policeman in their community, the NPF would have been forced to remove him.
Now that innocent blood have been spilled, they want to forment trouble.

Most of these policemen are insane as in MAD...WEREY first class...from their IG to least officer...Imagine..just imagine!

Honestly, police job in Nigeria is cursed...the trigger-happy officer has thrown the families of the slained guys into perpetual mourning..

This is why I just avoid them. I don't argue with them at checkpoint...I don't keep them as friend..if any of my friend joins the police force, I delete him straight...useless people

So if a police officer misbehaves you guys can summon courage disarm him/ arrest and call the nearest police station to hand over his gun to a superior officer. Alcohol has done more arms than good either causing fatal accident, reckless shooting and killing, misbehaviour, etc. There was a day I saw 2 officers drinking and with their gun on there hand na so I waka pass with speed. Alchohol has health, psychological and physical effect, and most people that drink always waste there hard earned cash on Alchohol. Quit now!

I don't understand. Is dying so sweet that the policeman had to boast about it. This is sad. I think the Police Force had to do something about drunk policemen. This is so sad.

Stop being funny. Arrest a policeman in Nigeria? Collect his gun? His people will have you murdered and they will claim you are armed robbers. Don't try this stunt if you are not well connected or in the military.

Arrest a police officer with a gun? Disarm him? Yes, we can, but not when their superior officer will tag you an armed robber, or lied against you. These guys can not be trusted!

I think this incident has a spiritual undertone, the police man was just used to carry out the assignment. I wonder how a drunk police officer remembered to kill himself also, killing himself saved him from a horrible death sha.

Wow! Please for the sake of your existence my brother (i.e. U are not a millitary personnel or senior police officer), don't try this in Nigeria o... We still need u around and I'm not jut ready to type another RIP! Such act is a death sentence in the Nigerian system. BTW.... for how long have u been outside Nigeria?

I blame the hotel management.. Its wrong for a security officers asking for drinks from customers. Someone would have reported him yet they turned blind eye.

Forget about living abroad. Anywhere in the world It is a serious offense to disarm a policeman. The best you can do is call his superiors or fellows. But of course having drunk policemen staggering around is a Nigerian thing.
