Courtois should go thank the post and the crossbar. Those were saves DDG would av done with eyes closed. Take herrera's tap and Terry's bullet header as case study. Courtois had no idea of the ball, he just dived across goal and the ball hit him. Watch DDG's terry's save, as close enough as terry was plus the power of the header, DDG still saw it clearly and tipped it over. Thats class!!

I think Martial should have led the line. Rooney played better than recently but still didn't stay upfront enough to trouble Chelshit's CB pair.

In all honesty, I'ld have taken Rooney off instead of Mata for Memphis as CF.
We need a direct player on the right flank to replace Mata in this transfer window so we can launch a full 4-3-3 formation for the rest of the season. Mane will do here.

We also need another CM with pace to partner Morgan. Bastian cannot last the whole game but he's still a very useful player.
We must also recall Januzaj & Wilson cuz our strength in depth is poor.

Great game from Jackson, he seem to improve with every minute he gets.

The average position below shows Ivanovic, Zouma & Mikel on Martial. If Rooney had maintained a CF position or we had another direct forward on the right, more chances would have opened up.

I always said it that the only reason we were losing was the players we use for this system.
Substitute Mata for Robben/bale, Rooney for Lewandowski who can even finish off a half chance, Young for Carvajal, and we would be trouncing every single team in the EPL.


If we had this line up that played this Chelsea match since November, I'm sure we would be almost or even top of the league.
Carrick and Felliani in the same midfield is an anomaly which will never work, even in the championship.

Schwein, Schneiderlin, Herrera is actually nice enough to dominate most matches in the EPL.


The players also need to take some blame, just look at Rooney wasting our best chance of the match, or Felliani passing the ball to the keeper from point blank range at least twice in the past few games.

In summary, Van Gaal isn't a poor coach, but his selection sometimes it's sickening.
I think his weakness is that, he isn't good at replacing his first choice players when they become injured/unavailable.

That Zouma lad is good I must admit. The problem is, he is the only covering the both CB positions.

A United team has not even an average striker on the bench to be called upon when we need goal, not minding his subs that look like they're from the opponent's coach. I still can't believe 250mil was spent on this team. And btw, that was the worst chelshit team in recent years.

I am not disputing that Suarez is a great striker. My arguement is that he didn't win the treble for Barca as you claimed.

Do you know when Suarez scored 31 goals, Sturridge scored 21 goals despite having limited appearances due to injuries? Sturridge was almost as good as Suarez. Sturridge was the one who tore our defence apart at Old Trafford. I think Gerald, playing as a center midfielder won the highest Assists that season and he also scored 13 goals. If Sturridge stayed fit, Liverpool would have won the league even if Gerald slipped 7 times in the season.

I'm not saying he single handedly won it!

Barca were getting found out in the biggest games in the champions league every time, with Messi being marked out playing his false 9 role that was mostly only effective against little teams.

Remove Rooney and put Young in attack and you have a really good team......

Check the replay, If Martial's shot was going on target ,Courtois would have touched it....Would it have still gone in? No one knows that...
I can't really say if Mata's shot was faster than him,but if it wasn't then you can also apply that to it...if it was going on target, he would have a touch on it.....

I was really impressed with Barthwick Johnson, i don't mind moving young to RWF and Darmian back to his favoured position...We can alternate between Johnson and Blind for now, in the hope that Jones stays fit

Someone like you might be tempted to say Diego Costa won the EPL and Capital1 cup for Chelsea. If Costa had departed last summer, you would easily have attributed Chelsea current struggle to that.

Right now Chelsea miss Costa; an in form Costa, so it's just like saying last season's Costa isn't available too!
However, even if he left, he wouldn't have been the sole reason for Chelsea's poor season since their general play from attack to defense is horrible.
