My own is fornication. I have managed to obey all commandments except that. Even when I dont want to go for it, it comes to me. So, I seriously want to stay away from the sin of fornication this year.

Here we go again, the popular rhetoric has resurface. The new year resolution delirium.

Each new year, we claim good things for ourselves as if that is all that is required to own or achieve the things claimed. We resolve to do a thousand and one thing, but sadly, it often ends as a cultural or traditional habit. Nothing gets done eventually.

If it is not new year resolutions, it is these common writings, '2016, my year of excellence', 'this is my year of glory', 'my year of miracles' and other inanity.

One need not wait till a new year to implement a necessary change, to uproot a bad habit, to cultivate a good one. In as much as it is preferable to plant during the rainy season, one can plant anytime if he is determined to water the plant.
A stitch in time saves nine.

You're probably naive.

New year has its benefits and drawbacks and the best wish is success but before then you must lower your expectations a little bit and pray for luck as well.

It seems like you just came across the word naive but too bad I'm not here to school you of what it entails.

Success comprises and subsume more than just verbal/communicative representation. It's not something you just say but characterise by resilience, determination and rigorous hardwork.

If you think you can just echo that this coming new year I will make it, become a billionaire and own posh homes without designing a framework on how to actualise it while working tirelessly then you must be living in a cuckoo land.

I'm cool with your own expressions but for me, I try to lower my expectations and take myself as an underdog.

I've taken a difficult exam even some people who are racists didn't wish me well but I ended up scoring B, could have gotten A if not for some minor mistakes.

I can't wish myself to be a billionaire or whatever you call it. I don't have to be a billionaire to be happy in life. But if God, out of the blue, wants to make me a billionaire, then surely i will donate half of the money to Charity, pay tuition fees for selected hard-working students and so on.

This is the way I see life.

With the embolden, I got piqued to view your profile and it confirmed my curiosity that you live in the West. The average Nigerian inhabitant barely think towards that direction nor have such mindset. I've to say that you've a good head on your shoulder. Respect!

Do you really understand what i wrote previously?

I said you may not marry next year, meaning there's also possibility you would get married.

However, if I had said you cannot marry next year, then it becomes a different ball game.

Eg, in football tourney, that's the U-17 World Cup, before the tournament, some foreign journalists said;

Nigeria may not defend the title they won two years ago but we finally defended it. While others said Nigeria cannot win the trophy. And they became losers. cheesy You see the difference?

May not means it's "totally not impossible" while cannot signifies "impossible."

Sori if it hurts your feelings. Maybe you're used to will and will not.

Don't worry about that.
