#86.50k pump price with the dubious "Subsidy" gone... I agree to this as far as the money meant for subsidy is channelled to verifiable massive infrastructural development.
what positive effect will this have when 80% of filling station will sell at #150 and very few will sell @#86.50k and the rich and connected just need a pass from marketers to jump queue and buy while you are helplessly r a p e d of your rights, is this a true change?

Great development. Bringing down the cost of PMS has always been a challenging one. PDP/Obasanjo era was worse. Obj spent 8 years and increased the cost for 8 times.

I am pretty sure Buhari is doing a wonderful job up there.

God help the current leadership.

Do I hear you say wonderful job! I am sick that our youths are no longer thinking with thier heads. I am not against removing the oil subsidy. But it is rather sad that the government has to resolve to grass deciet to cunningly removed the oil subsidy. It is even more sad that they have no plan for pallatives to aleviate the suffering such removal will have on the masses. For those of you who are still buying the propaganda from the Government......I reserve my comment till next year when reality will dawn!

I agree there won't be immediate uniform pump price Nation wide... We have more than 7000 gas stations nation wide...so, I have the liberty to go where they sell at the least price in my vicinity...
We should brace up for strict price competition between oil marketers.. the same thing experienced in the telecommunications years back..afterwards we will all smile.

Nigeria will be great again!

Oil Crisis: APC accuses Nigerian govt of fraud, says price cut too meagre
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Federal Government of making a show out of deceit by its so-called fuel price reduction, saying a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol (from 97 to 87 Naira) is a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent...
In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said the pump price of a litre of fuel should not be more than 70 Naira, meaning that at 87 Naira per litre, the government is forcing Nigerians to subsidize the massive corruption in the oil sector by 17 Naira for every litre of fuel.
”When crude oil was selling at 100 dollars per barrel, the landing cost of PMS without subsidy was 125 Naira per litre. Now that the oil price has crash to about 44 dollars per barrel, landing cost without subsidy is about 65 Naira per litre. The same goes for diesel which should not sell for more than 90 Naira per litre,” it said.
APC said while governments of countries which are not as economically endowed as Nigeria have reduced the pump price of fuel as far back as early January 2015, Nigeria that is the world’s sixth largest producer of oil is just announcing a price slash that is far below those countries...

50kobo reduction in the pump price of PMS with the attendant removal of petroleum subsidy is the way to go. Away with the Marketers and Petroleum subsidy! They have held Nigerians to ransom enough.

Make it available at N87 first...

Rubbish government. I haven't bought fuel at 87 naira in more than two months. 130k is the average price unless u are willing to spend two days at filling stations and yet government is trying to impress gullible Nigerians.

How can what is not available become cheaper? APC economics.

Some of you here do not understand anything before coming to make useless comments. Do your research well and then understand. In the UK, it sells for about £1.40, covert that say how much.

Nigeria here will sell for less man a $1. Because world crude oil sells for less than $50, so then it should be sold for N5 in Nigeria?

Forgetting that a large sum is still refined outside the shores of Nigeria. Please, guys get your facts right!

This is madness.......what is this when the oil price at the International Market had been projected by the IMF to hit a bottom $20 per barrel in the coming year. By now this administration should be talking about crashing the PMS to N50 and do likewise to other fuel like kerosene and diesel and not this killing and robbing N86.50k in a country where prices of other commodities had skyrocketted against the buying power of the Naira, that is inching close to N300 to a dollar undecided
The present administration is not made of magical concoction. .....!!! Our able VP is also an economist. ......with the likes of prof.Pat Utomi. We don't really expect Buhari to perform magic in a very short period of time or do we In fact, the 50kobo reduction is a very analytic and job well done considering the squandered resources by the former administration. .......This and other things need to be considered when criticizing the present administration. I also feel it should be reduced to a minimal price (PMS) buh I'm just thinking as a lame man. As people who know how the state is running financially and they would tell you the reduction was even a risk taken to suit Nigerians.
