The Niger Delta would definitely survive. I believe it will fall back on Agriculture, because it would be the next goldmine in view of the fact that the world is moving away from fossil fuel and encouraging the wider use of renewable energy. In fact, with concerted efforts, no region of the country should suffer given the clement weather, abundant human and natural resources. |

TheDevilIsALai:I acknowledge the entrepreneurial and resilient zeal of the SE business man/woman. It is really impressive and one of the bedrock of our economy. But let's categorize what is being done accurately so we don't dwell on half truths. If power gets fixed the entire SE will get revolutionized with great industries etc. But don't now delude yourself that SE are the only ones creating employment without government assistance, it's simply a falsehood. Are the igbos the most entrepreneurial as a group? Oh yeah. But are they the only entrepreneurs? Hell no. Let's keep things in proper perspective. |

kayfra:The igbos are mostly likely to enter the middle class regardless of their academic background than any tribe. The middle class in Nigeria is typified as mostly educated individuals with at least a BSC. While the southwest relies on paid employment in a multinational firm to enter the middle class which will require a university degree, the igbos irrespective find themselves in this class through self employment and they do this through an independent mindset to succeed. This is the secret of entrepreneurship . So while the SW will have to get a higher degree and the multinational company to employ him or her after attaining their degree the Ibos are already generating their own wealth. This is what made America great. Not paid employment but small businesses . McDonalds was formed from one burger stand in suburbia but today it is a global brand. The small scale you dismiss today can grow to conquer the world and there are so many global brands all over the world which started as a one man venture. |

Dedetwo:Again what evidence do you have for that fear. That is what YOU want to believe. The land is part of Nigeria and there is no way a breakup will not have consequence for our security and economy therefore the process must be managed in a mature adult way. So that our future security is not imperiled. If you want to go you can go but first establish that is the will of the majority then we can have an adultt conversation of sharing assets liabilities, future borders and secuirty. Ask yourselves why is it that NOT ONE of your elected representatives NO LGA Councillor all the way to senate has advocated for Biafra? Are they all cowards. Were they elected by Fulanis. How come not one House of Assembly has debated the matter. Not one of your 15 senators has brought it up. If you want to marry a woman is it her neighbour you will tell. Do it properly!! NO!! no one is afraid of Biafra but people do not want unruliness and unlawfulness. Will you achieve Bifra by opening stupid Radio stations while your elected leaders are too cowardly to speak up? My suggestion to you vote in Nnamdi Kanu as a senator. If you are too young to remember ask your elders. Ojukwu lost in his 1983 bid to become a senator so we can not assume your wishes by observing WE NO GO GREE noisemakers and rabble. Next time vote in men and women of courage who will come and speak about Biafra LIKE ADULTS then you will be surprised how quickly you will have Biafra This alibi that someone is holding you back is an impotent excuse. We want you gone just do the right thing. As far as I can see the Ibo majority do not want Biafra but you can prove me wrong |

jstbeinhonest:The ND debt is sustainable as it can be met with their income. The debt ratio for SW is by far the worst in the entire federation. And why will you sit and type nonsense that the SW is richer than the SS? I can understand Edo but I don't think any of your rural people eat or live better than the average Niger Deltan. This is how we where made to believe that osun has the highest GDP in Nigeria even higher than a hustling state like Delta or Rivers. You people should stop decieving yourselves . |

kernel501:The SW produces has lots of oil palm,The reason why the ss/se sells more is because they have more and consume less. The SW also produces Large quantities of maize (About 40percent of Nigeria's total) and about 200,000 tonnes of cocoa beans. |

TheDevilIsALai:This is the folly of relying on stereotypes. You gang up SE and SW as one homogeneous group with stereotypical behaviors. Within the SW the Ijebus and Ijeshas are as entrepreneurial as Igbos if not more and we have enough igbos in service based industries (multinationals). Let's stop the tribalistic display and hubris. Its why Africa is held back as a continent. |

kernel501:Ask you grand mother why they broke the law and also tried to attack Lagos. ask her why they killed Akintola and others and ask them why they plundered banks in Benin and tried to steal territories across Eastern Nigeria. You must ALWAYS do things with due process not act on impulse like children. When you break away into Biafra we will give you conditions whiich you must adhere to number one of which is it must be a demilitarized zone. Biafra will not be allowed to have any kind of military or enter any military treaties since you have proven in the past to be untrustworthy. Once we have all other legal arrangements in place you can be on your way |

jstbeinhonest:If I earn 100,000 and have to pay 5,000 to service bank debts am I poorer or more indebted than a man who earns 10,000 and has to pay 4,000 monthly? Use your brain. Apart from Lagos none of the states in your region come close to the ND. And with all honesty can you say that Baylsans are poorer than Osunites who are facing an acute famine than even those in the ravaged NE? Admit it ! Your people are only barely slightly better than your almajiri cousins from up north. How can civil servants require food aid from churches and FERMA ? That is what happened in your osun. |
