nonsense.

if you cnt deal with our naira, then Bleep off our airspace.

can we tender Naira to buy flight ticket in Uk/USA. will it be accepted.

yet you want us to accept your own currency in our country.

you see them talking about repatriatin fund to their country.

if you must repatriate fund back to you country, them go with Naira and exchange it in your country.

Naira must be strengthened.
outright ban on dollar/pound spending be impose.

paying for jet fuel in dollars here in nigeria should not be accepted, they should exchange their dollar to naira and pay the marketers in naira, this are tinz that will help strengthen our Naira.

we have accept all their rubbish over the years, but now it time we take our stand.

African should stand tall and face the devilish white people to their face, we should stop fueling white man economy at the detriment of our own.

Guy,do you really understood what you just read??/..
When you read ,don't be in a haste to comment, cos you got to make nonsense of comments,.

In summary, there is no where they said Nigerians should be buying tickets in foreign currency (s), and how to repatriate their cash to their respective countries,, cutting down number of aircraft's coming into the country next year and downsizing their workforce and marketers notifying them to be buying fuel in dollars ,.So ur contributions are out of place and order.
Correct me if there is any need.
Thank you

1 naira to 1 dollar seems to be heading towards the opposite direction at the moment.

Tell me, is the dollar going to suddenly turn around on its own and start heading back to 1 naira value?

In a bid to tell yourself that you did well by voting Buhari, things suddenly crowded your head and reasoning became a difficult task. Then you deny yourself of the fact that things are not what you expected. Smh

It's not too late to help yourself.
I don't care who the President is or who voted him.. My point is that things are getting worse on daily basis and knowing the kind of people in Nigeria, it's not going to get better any time soon.

It is getting better

Bro you dnt get it, nobody is saying they shld not take their profit home,

Can a nigeria doing business in UK/US allow to accept Payment in Naira from UK/US citizens.

when the business get to Nigeria, he changes his dollar to Naira.

So the Airline can go back to their various country and change the Naira to their dollar/pound.

with that their will be demand for Naira in other country, and that will help strengthen our Naira,

simply because the demand for dollar is high in Nigeria that one of the major reason our naira is in a free fall.

I know of some places in Ikoyi, that shooping complex where they only accept dollar, for payment of Goods, we have same in Abuja too. it worrisome.

You should read up on international economy and how currencies work before commenting on complicated topics like this that are obviously above your pay grade.

The effect on the airlines are the unintended consequences of the CBN policies. These were not the targets of these policies.

For your information, naira is of little or no value to these airlines if they were to take it to their country as you suggested. They need to change them to foreign currencies in other to pump these same funds into their airline operation back at home to continue the operation.

Look at it from the angle of an trader, if a particular customer continues to pay you with a currency that have little and decreasing buying power, you have the right to refuse to sell to that customer or reduce your sales to that customer and and the customer can take his or her business elsewhere...this is exactly what the airlines say, they are going to do...i.e. reduce flights to Nigeria and divert then elsewhere for better use.

You might say...good! Then the 'customer', which in this case is Nigeria can take his business elsewhere, the problem is, the CBN clip down is on all foreign curriences, which means other countries will not be willing to do business with Nigeria or they will adopt reciprocating policies against Nigeria, in this scenario Nigeria would have set itself against the whole world.

Central bank policies should be the last option to boost countries economy...other countries like the USA, China, Germany, etc that does it having huge goodwill and mighty underlying productive economy to back it...Nigeria does not, if a few other countries adopt reciprocating policies against the Naira, the currency will continue in it's free fall, which will lead to hype-inflation and the economy will collapse underneath.

So it has come to the extent that they cannot understand simple information?

Airlines are doing businesses in Nigeria, footing all their bills but cannot take home their profits thus they may reduce the presence due to the dollar restrictions - if you are in their shoes what will you do?

If the western world made it a low that you cannot leave America or Britain with what you have earned in their nation how will Nigerians see it?

From your understanding is this policy not a negative one for Nigerians and our economy?

Can someone suggest to foreigners how best to take their hard earned money home!

I don't see Igbo presidency passing us in, at worst, 2023. Igbos need to be given a sense of re-acceptance after the war not to be given a country by Nigeria allowing a president of Igbo extraction. Forget about another country because Nigeria is too mixed to be separated now. I'm not ready for any tribal shock or mass movement of Igbos from other states now...and war should not even be an option because I'm not ready for another 1967.

Many thanks for your post. Even though I cannot deny that things are not getting better but I want to know the type of suffering 160m Nigerian would suffer if an international airline does not fly into Nigeria. Ever since they have been flying into Nigeria, what considerable income has been acruing to Nigeria? Can the non- availability of such income impact negatively on us? Those are questions which should be asking (not endtime questions) and not all this shout of suffering each time any organisation withdraws it services from Nigeria.

I agree totally with you, that is why Nigerians in the Diaspora send so much money back home every year because they are allowed to repatriate their earnings.
The Foreign Airlines should be allowed to repartriate their earnings in Dollars, because Naira is not an international convertible currency, if it were then the Airlines would have taken home their earnings in Naira.
Sall could be a Propangandist, but plain common sense should always over-ride propaganda.
