Unbelievable. People will even suggest we give Buhari absolute power. It shows some of you are poor students of history. Africa need strong institutions and not strong men- Obama once said. Once You give Buhari absolute powers and he begins to trample on other rights who will save us. Thankfully he is wiser than most of you and he understand his limitations. Thankfully again, the majority of Nigerians are well educated and will resist the sentiments been shared here. Within the Constitution and working under the guidance of the law, President Buhari can fight corruption effectively. The last thing we need is a Mobuto or Pol pot or Mugabe or Kim un. Go to those countries or study on their history and be wise. Strengthen efcc by providing them training. Let their be a reward system to the prosecutor's office of efcc. What do I mean? Let Nigerians vote or have an input on who to prosecute criminals. We have had Rotimi prosecuting criminals for efcc since 2012 with little success yet he keeps drawing salaries. Set up a special court with fearless judges using an act of Parliament. Empower the police with adequate training and forensics to be able to investigate and prosecute cases successfully. Few simple yet effective means to fight corruption and not empower Buharis and his family to lord it over a nation of over 120 million. And if tomorrow, his own sons and family begins to steal who checks them? You don't solve a problem by creating another one. I'll end it by quoting Napolean Bonaparte - "no one is indispensable go to the graveyard and see". If tomorrow Buhari after giving him dictatorial power was to die. What happens. Do we suspend elections and look for another dictator. But if we strengthen institutions, it does not matter who is the leader at present, things run smoothly. That's what done in developed climes. 2 Likes |

Psalm18: It also shows they are not in any way civilized and ready for democratic rule. The useless APC led govt is blaming the laws and institutions that protect and uphold it . The APC and Buhari are not in anyway fit to rule Nigeria in the 21st century as they are always quick to blame others and deflect from their stupidity. 4 Likes |

Nigeria is still a member of UN and part of planet earth and dictatorship is no longer fashionable nor acceptable. Rule of law can not be overruled nor wished away in the quest for justice. As much as we all want punishment for corruption and a better country we can't afford to create anarchy by supporting disobedience to court rulings as such will make those who calls the country a zoo justified. 7 Likes |

HzRF: Abraham Lincoln was the true proponent of democracy, yet even himself did not deliver 100% democracy, with the blacks still enslaved in the south and some enclaves in the north. America democracy of today i bet you is not even 80% democracy, so what are you talking about my friend. If we were to practice true democracy in this nation with this set of devilish minded politicians, this country will be a real real ZOO and not the fictitious one Kanu referred to. Our system of government is not yet ripe enough for true democracy hence, we need some level of high handedness to correct some not well brought up brats in adult form, who will hide behind democracy and begin to perpetuate their atrocious and insidious acts with their cabals tentacles reaching far and wide to almost every aspect of our economy. Do you not know that this people have bought the courts and judges, our constitution have been mortgaged and the populace cocooned in a web of deceit catacombs and a mentality of, "since we they see small small chop, e good. We fit manage am dey go". What a fallacy in this 21st century. What is your definition of democracy? What is your way out of this mess we have all found ourselves. Or you are happy with the way you are? Travel out of this country and see your mates in the western wold, whose democracy you are copying looks like. See if you can compete with them. So my friend do not tell me what i know to be the bitter truth. Let Nigeria constitution strengthen the three arms of government, and let there be true separation of power so that even the president can not go out of his jurisdiction nor to even talk of ignoring a court rule. President Buhari is stepping a little bit out-side because the legislative and judiciary arms of government are sleeping, so they should wake up to their responsibility. Stop collecting bribe and perverting justice. Stop favoring the corrupt and rich individual, there-by making a mockery of the judiciary. IF THIS IS DONE, THEN ONLY WILL THE PRESIDENT NOT STEP OUT, BUT UNTILL... I SUPPORT HIM. FOR NOW THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN PUT FEAR INTO THIS PEOPLE AND CORRECT THEM I stand to be corrected, if am wrong. |

phoneport: The laws back then did not even allow white women to vote. Lincoln upheld the laws of the land. This is at variance with your despotic Buhari who is cherry picking through the law books Our system of government is not yet ripe enough for true democracy hence, we need some level of high handedness to correct some not well brought up brats in adult form, who will hide behind democracy and begin to perpetuate their atrocious and insidious acts with their cabals tentacles reaching far and wide to almost every aspect of our economy. Then why did your Buhari and APC not lead a militia to wrest power from a constitutionally elected civilian govt instead of participating in a democratic election? Do you see your hypocrisy? Do you not know that this people have bought the courts and judges, our constitution have been mortgaged and the populace cocooned in a web of deceit catacombs and a mentality of, "since we they see small small chop, e good. We fit manage am dey go". What a fallacy in this 21st century. Reform the system and not abolish it. Real change is not about destroying the old but building upon it and making anew. What is your definition of democracy? You voted in your despotic ruler and now you are asking us to define democracy for you? Travel out of this country and see your mates in the western wold, whose democracy you are copying looks like. I guess the almighty USA and Europe got to where they were by suppressing free speech, undermining the rule of law and having a legacy of despotic leadership. You must be *** 5 Likes 2 Shares |

BishopMagic: I think liar mohammed and his cronies are testing waters to gauage the possible acceptability of a pesudo-dictatorship where the constitution can be suspended so that Buhari can unilaterally hang or jail his perceived detractors. His lack of respect for the judiciary has made him a laughing stock among the comity of nations. Suspending the constitution will gave him the leverage that he craves for but first they must guage feelings by testing waters on the social media. 4 Likes 1 Share |

There is nothing to suggest that pmb is acting as a dictator, the agencies under his govt are simply doing their work. EFCC and DSS in this case. I guess many people just pick up a wrong narrative and then build skycraper blocks of bullocks on it. the efcc prosecution team have simply perfected the act of using technicalities to keep some of the suspects in jail, past experiences has shown that the allege criminals also use technicalities to evade justice. So far in this dispensation, i noticed that In some corruption cases, effcc simply charge the alleged looters on less count charges than necessary and wait for the alleged criminal to play smart and get bail, then they simply re-arrest him immediately with new and fresh count charges cunny man die, cunny man bury am. The same situation applies to nnamdi kunu guy, he was set free in the courts, but dss came up with fresh charges of treason, and offcourse he is saying happy new year in the dungeon as i type. Where does buhari come in as a dictator in all of these?? Maybe only in the tiny but warped mind of those ethnic jngoists 2 Likes 1 Share |

chinchum: I tire o . . . as if it was PMB that instructed Dasuki to commit multiple crimes, or Kanu and his accomplices to be climbing MTN masts like monkeys in the 'zoo', 'illegally', while propagating hate and anarchy, and cursing all tribes and sub-tribes -- actually, anyone that feels offended by that 'conman' (Kanu) has a right to sue him -- he bit more than he can chew already. Ironically, we should be freaking charging Dasuki's @.ss for not discharging his duties dutifully in Kanu's case, if he had, he should have taken care of Kanu long time ago. 1 Like |
