DONSMITH123:
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed Thursday for ruling on ex-Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Haliru Bello, and his son’s bail application.

Bello and his son, Abbah Mohammed, were arraigned before Justice Ahmed Mohammed on four counts of money laundering involving about N300m, which they allegedly collected from the office of the National Security Adviser.

Justice Mohammed ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to ensure that Bello, who was wheeled into the court in a wheelchair, was monitored in hospital and remanded the PDP chieftain’s son in Kuje Prison till Thursday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had filed charges against Bello, who is also a former Minister of Defence, and his son, along with their firm, Bam Properties.

Both men pleaded not guilty to all four counts.

300m for half of the citizens in a year? Bros, 300m can't even cater for the nysc scheme for a year. 300m is 1m x 300. That money can't even feed a local govt for a month let alone half the population of Nigeria as u mentioned.

If justice can be meted easily on pickpocket and a thief who stole goods or amount less than N5000 in this country by the court, I don't know why it is difficult to punish those who stole as high as N300m

Re: Haliru Bello Under Police Watch, Son Remanded by andyanders:
TonyeBarcanista:
Many of una de misunderstand me. For instance, I supported Saraki for SP in June but when in September the allegation of his false asset declaration came, many expected that I should support him but I instead call for his resignation and prosecution(which I still maintain).

When the allegation against Akpabio came, someone sent me message on BBM that I should do an article to defend him. I maintained that he(Akpabio) should explain himself to the investigators(and the judge).

Recall that when Dasuki's home was first occupied and the 'defence' put up by the DSS, I contended that the DSS had no case based on their explanation. When the $2.2b allegation came to light, I maintained that he be prosecuted and vomit every kobo along with his co-travellers no matter who they may be.

My support for good governance and anti-corruption crusade is not borne out of the party I voted for or who is in power. It's about the love for all as Nigerians and our future as a country. If Buhari continues with his anti-corruption fight and other patriotic policies, he will always have my backing irrespective of whose Ox is gored.

It is not for the sake of politics, it is for the sake of you and I. For the sake of Nigeria

PS: A time shall come when the Sycophants will be separated from the Patriots.
Well said. Most times, you should wait and do an investigative journalism b4 coming up to support any of The Nigerian politician or to put up your write-ups. The past politicians were there because of what they will be getting.
