The summary of the police calculations in Nigeria was shown in 2011. The South united and voted in Jonathan. It means if the South unites, they will always defeat the North. The North always seems to be in charge because the South is hardly ever united.

Zik was referred to as the beautiful bride during the run in to the 1979 presidential election NOT the 50s/60s! The battle for the South East vote was intense between Awo and Shagari. Both Awo and Shagari needed to woo Zik for the eastern vote hence the beautiful bride!
