Remember the first mayor of Enugu was a Fulani on the platform of NCNC

Its funny you defend Awo's display of tribalism.

If Awo had not taken that myopic step, imagine where Nigeria will be

You see why Nigeria becoming a developed nation is dream that will not come true. cool
**** you dey compare a section of Enugu, a state to a region constituting Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and the Bendel state!
You are mad!

It is a known fact that Awolowo was prepared to work with Zik, in fact he had asked Zik if they could form a Government together, but Zik prefered Ahmadu Bello. Why do you think people then referred to Zik as the beautiful bride. Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello were sworn enemies hence Awo was jailed in the 60s. But both could work with Zik. If the Igbos have a problem today, they should trace it back to Zik.

And when Igbos call Hausa the slave masters of the Yoruba, I can only laugh. It is on record that the Hausa and Yoruba have never voted in similar fashion except in 2015. Just check history.

Zik accepted to serve under Balewa in 1960 and 1964. Ekweme accepted to serve under Shagari in 1979. Both Hausa and Igbo voted Shagari/Ekweme. In 1999, the Hausa and Igbo voted Obasanjo remember. So who really are the slaves here?

The summary of the police calculations in Nigeria was shown in 2011. The South united and voted in Jonathan. It means if the South unites, they will always defeat the North. The North always seems to be in charge because the South is hardly ever united.
your assumptions are wrong, Obasanjo has a good relationship with North and got is vote as well,

Jonathan Won in 2011, because he had the support of the North, Tinubu also sold Lagos votes to him.

Any time any day, the North is more populous, even if all the south Vote one side, they can never win North,

In this country, a northerner will always be the president or vice at any point in time.

Awolowo DESTROYED Nigeria's unity, IRREPARABLY, in 1952, when he, Awolowo, engineered the CARPET-CROSSING of NCNC members into his new party, the Action Group. Nigerians have not known peace since that day.

Facts are sacred. History!
The NCNC members voted Awolowo, a western man over an eastern man in a Western region, any problem?
You greedy ibos better go and look for whatever is inching you!

Your Ironsi destroyed our true federalism and zoned power to the centre due to his greediness! There were no oil boom as at then and the West and the North's resources were higher than that of the Eastern's! Have you forgotten the North pleaded to Ironsi not to destroy the regional system? Do you think they would have done such if there were oil boom at that time?
Oil resources only became relevant after the civil war and the North realised they have hit a jackpot with the unitary system created by your stupid and greedy Ironsi!

How does this change the fact that awo(the greatest yoloba man ever) took rat poison & died like a thief?

How does this stop yoloba people from being cowards?

Stop famzing the Igbo Nation. We know who our real enemies are. undecided

30% correct. You have the propaganda version of history. Thank God Chief Richard Akinjide is alive and healthy. Zik and NCNC were persuading Ahmadu Bello and his faction of NPC to accept Independence, which Bello rightly figured out, would undermine Fulani control of their conquered and expanding territories, such as Zango Kataf, Plateau state, etc. It's just like Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, weren't ready to join Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia, in their struggle for Independence. So NPC opposed the first Motion for Independence, and everyone had to wait until they were convinced, and at the very high price Southern Nigerians are still paying.

The funny thing is Zik isn't even a Westerner! Assuming he was an Edo, Urhobo, Itsekiri or any of the tribes in the then Bendel state, we would have taken him serious!
But the question is what is an eastern doing here in the Western presidential candidate election?
As a matter of fact, Zik was even given a political post after Awolowo won the Election but he said it's either head of state or none! What a greedy badstard!

So you admit that Awolowo was not a Nigerian nationalist, until 1969. Unlike Adegoke Adelabu, et al, who believed that a great Nigeria would serve everyone's interest, better than a multitude of unviable states.

Still our Military Regimes adopted ZIKISM, deploying Governors outside their states of origin, in order to integrate Nigerians into a Nation State, which the likes of you are still resisting, by DOUBLE-SPEAK. You want one Nigeria, where voting citizens are still considered as SETTLERS. So alooting continua, internecine tribalism continua.

The military regime already balkanised the region into state by then! And even then, the zoning was done in a way that every states got their own share of governance!
This is quite different from the Eastern region having an eastern Premier yet wanting to govern over the Western too! That's so absurd!

You are just dumb! How does state compare to a whole region!? Not to mention that the Eastern already had an Eastern Premier but still wants to govern over a Western region!
Assuming a Western man was governing the Eastern while the West rejected an Eastern, that would have been a different case!

Don't deceive yourself Awo would have left him in the south and formed a coalition with the north if it will guarantee more power. All Awo wanted was more and more powers regardless of how he gets it or who he aligns with. Awo was the first prominent civilian to serve in a northern military government. Read up his autobiography, your eyes will be opened up 100 times about his dark heart. Zik did the right thing.

Azikiwe and awolowo were NEVER enemies. They were political and ideological rivals and thats a huge difference.

awolowo nominating him (as President) in parliament as leader of d opposition was a noble thing do to bt it was also a FORMALITY. Zik and Balewa had already divided the posts to be shared among their parties and it was public knowlege.

Using this to whitewash Yoruba perennial back-stabbing and sabotage of Igbo aspiration is immature and an insult to our intelligence.
